pride /prīd/ noun 2. confidence and self-respect as expressed by members of a group, typically one that has been socially marginalized, on the basis of their shared identity, culture, and experience.
it's almost if words can have more than one meaning. incredible!

Editado por Mediocre Adidas: 6/9/2019 9:49:17 PMNot the primary meaning and not the meaning used in history Just like how faggot is cigarette

context is important here:
socially marginalized, on the basis of their shared identity, culture, and experience
this is exactly how the term is being applied by the LGBTQ+ community at large: they're not saying they're the best, but are just expressing solidarity. meanwhile, the other definition of pride references arrogance and superiority - qualities never claimed by Pride Month.
-
The original meaning was for a bundle of sticks used to make fuel. Not quite sure how it morphed into a slur against a same sex person.

Can we have Lust as a month?! put it right after Prude!
-
Whatever month Valentine's Day is in
-
So December.
-
Pride is the wrong word; acceptance would have been better.
-
November. After the gathering of candies from the Holiest of Days at the end of October, we feast on sweets until we arrive at the time of the Great Thanking where all consume until their bellies burst!
-
No kidding! December is Greed February is Lust November is Gluttony We just need Envy, Pride, Sloth, & Wrath now!
-
June is Pride for the left and Wrath for the right. March is Sloth because everyone pretends to be Irish by drinking themselves to sleep every afternoon. Envy can be August because no one likes it.
-
But my birthday is in August. :(
June is Pride for the left and Wrath for the right.
Pride to the Left of Me, Wrath to the Right Here I am, Stuck in the middle with you!
March is Sloth because everyone pretends to be Irish by drinking themselves to sleep every afternoon.
In all this world, why I do think There are five reasons why we drink: Good friends, good wine, lest we be dry and any other reason why
Envy can be August because no one likes it.
As a Texan, I envy those who live somewhere that never get above 75 degrees in August!
As a Texan, I envy those who live somewhere that never get above 75 degrees in August!
I envy you, it's snowed in August here

No, no you would not. See, the great thing about cold, is that you can layer and layer and layer some more. I have lived in cold and it is preferable to a heat that you can not escape and in August, when we are in the Triple Digits, the inside of your car is 40-60 degrees hotter then outside is. Your a/c, no matter how good, never seems to cool you down. You have no energy. You are downing gallons of water to stay hydrated and you are praying you do not get heat stroke on the way to the mailbox.

Have you ever noticed, that in the winter, you can put on all the clothes you want to stay warm and no one has any issues. But then when summer hits, you can only take off so many pieces of clothing before you are arrested for trying to stay cool! I think we need equality between the seasons!!

YAS! My son and I built a 70 foot long privacy fence this past Saturday. He’s in tip top shape but I’m not. I wore a friggin camelbak to stay hydrated and STILL lost 6 lbs in the 4 hours it took us to build it. I think it was like 96 with a heat index of 110. SUCKED SO BAD. Now i understand why roofers start 30min before sunrise and knock off at 1130AM during the summer.

Yup. My first summer in package car, they almost had to take me to the hospital. The back brakes actually fell out of the rear drums, so no parking brake and the transmission would not hold the truck on an incline. So I had to sit in the sun with my foot on the brake for 2 hours waiting on the mechanic to show up. He made the adjustment to the transmission that allowed it to properly enter park, then we swapped everything over. I drank all my water, 2 Gatorade and I was still messed up. The mechanic called my boss and told them I was looking rough, so they made a few calls. I went on to my next stop, a private school. The school nurse saw me and made me sit down with a fan on me. They called the company and found out they had someone en route. They showed up with bananas, ice and gatorade. I had drunk almost 4 gallons of water total by that point. I ate a banana and soon was in the bathroom puking. They had to ice me down to bring my body temp down. My whole body was cramping up. One of the worst pains I have ever felt. My personal vehicle, it did not have a/c at the time, so there I was, trying to drive 45 miles in gridlocked traffic.....I should have just gone to the hospital. They gave me the rest of the week off with pay.
