When I need your help deciding how to spend my money, I'll ASK for it.
....and I suggest you don't wait around for me to ask...... Just sayin'.
Yesterday was a pivotal moment for me. Because I finally saw Bungie ACKNOWLEDGE the identity of the game they actually created...and lay the groundwork for BUILDING upon that Idenity. For the first time in five years, Bungie openly called this game an MMO....and an RPG.
Yesterday, I finally saw them lean into what I've been fighting here for 5 years to get them to lean into.
It was reassuring, because I had felt that I had been fighting Bungie the whole time....when---if you read between the lines of what the devs were saying----I had actually been fighting Activision's plans for the game.
So, on the eve of this game FINALLY going in the direction that I have wanted it to go these five year, I'm not looking to bail out.
I had said before, that "cores" would be a dealbreaker for me. But that's before I knew that such revolutionary and foundational changes to this game were actually on the table....and going to be offered.
If it means I need to play "recycled" content for the next year, while Bungie uses the game as a "Player Test Server" to transform this game into the kind of MMO/FPS hybrid it has always danced around the edges of being?
I'll do it.
Bungie drew a line in the sand yesterday. They basically said that====now that they are out from under Activision=====they are playing for the long game. That they're plans are for the next 2-5 years....and not next quarter's earnins and next shareholder's meeting.
I'm down with that plan.

With them finally being able to accept the game as one of them I hold high hopes for the future of Destiny, even if it takes a while for them to reach true MMORPGdom. I'm genuinely excited.

I know a lot of people give Luke Smith a hard time; but I think his plans for this game are exponentially better than where I thought it was going. I was pleasantly surprised. Pre ordered yesterday.

Finally addressed... What exactly? They are saying the exact same things that they always say and you guys so quickly forget all of the BS. This is why Bungie doesn’t actually create content that exceeds [i]many[/i] of our expectations... because the sheep forget. As much as I hate Luke Smith, he was right... you guys will throw money at the screen. Nobody told you how to spend your money. Just know that when you do preorder the content that you are part of the problem of rewarding mediocrity. You have no reason to complain about issues with the game because you are part of the problem. So, go ahead big guy. Preorder away. I’m not saying by any means that I haven’t gotten my monies worth or had some fun. What I am saying is that the game could be much better, but it won’t be because of those that reward Bungie for the substandard content that they have been producing. Do you want better content and a developer that actually values their community? If the answer is no, then by all means preorder the game. Otherwise, give it a month or so for it to drop to half price and pick it up then. See how quickly Bungie starts putting out better content then.

Personally, I don’t give two shits how you spend your money and neither does the OP. It was simply a statement that you felt the need to inject your simple-ass self into. Nobody asked you to respond to the statement by the OP... Yet, you felt the need to respond so constructively and in such a positive manner. As far as, “business experience”.... I have a MBA with a focus on Economics and have been in the business world for around thirteen years. Since you mentioned business experience I felt the need to advise you of my, “business experience”. All I heard from Bungie was excuses. Just like every other time. I fell for it every single time because I thought that there was no way that they would/could -blam!- things up again, but they did. Each time was less and less quality content. IMO. They would fix things and break more things to fix in the future to make it appear as if they were listening. Excuses are all that I have heard from them. I will not be rewarding them any more for mediocrity. It’s that simple. As far as you spending [i]your[/i] money... I no longer give you my permission to spend it as you see fit. Clearly, you lack the ability/intelligence to make good, informed decisions. I, also, question your ability to comprehend anything that is external to your simple brain that has yet to undergo evolution. For me, this remains to be seen. Yes, it looks good on paper but we all know how well that has been. I'm not saying this isn't their plan, I just want to see them actually follow through with what they say they're going to be doing.
