Recently with the death of Cayde, as well as a very wide distaste of Zavala and Ikora, the Guardian's of the city (or more accurately the players of the game) are in a tenuous trust with their leadership.
So why is that exactly? Give me your reason as to what you currently dislike about the vanguard and how it can be improved. Your one stipulation is that simply booting someone off the vanguard does not count as a solution, if you dislike Zavala tell me how you want him to improve or if you don't trust Ikora think about how this can be remedied

1. Find a new Speaker. 2. Make him leader above Zavala. 3. Assign a new Hunter Vanguard (Uldren, Shiro-4, or Bray I don't care) 4. Make each Vanguard train the new recruits of their respected classes. They could even ask veteran guardians for help with #4. I don't know about you, but I like games that have a deep story that introduces characters that impact future missions (in more ways than just dialog). Just imagine the possibilities for that if they followed this path.

I’d like to see Ikora have daily/weekly bounties, and maybe her own weapons to collect.
-
Recruit Mithrax
-
I want them to respect me as I am(the guardian to each) a slayer of gods and the hero of the red war. Wrf is ikora doing giving us blue engrams for the season of opulence quest step? Seriously that's just messed up. Lol
-
Reading the Oxygen SR3’s tab makes me content about their stance on how the Vanguard should play out from now on. They need to step down, as their emotions are getting in the way of making correct tactical decisions.
-
Comepetence. Neither Ikora nor Zavala have been doing anything. They just watch, nothing else. When Fallen Assault the City multiple times? We have to clean it up, nobody does anything
-
An Oxygen SR that has better base stability and far better scope choices for AA.

I want to Zavala get MAD. Not like fall from grace-turn away from the light mad but just get mad. His inaction and attitude about Cayde's death was kinda off putting. I mean Ikora literally calls him out in that cut scene. That to do nothing was cowardice. I'd like to believe there is more to Zavala than the duty, honor, defend the city at all costs, the wall is everything dogma he seems to exude. Get mad Zavala. They murdered your friend. Someone or something needs to shake him out of his stupor.
-
I want the Vanguard to shake off that past few years and remember who we are. I remain loyal to the Vanguard, The City, and The Traveler. It just feels that given everything that has happened they have become reticent to take risks and a bit gun-shy. I understand why all too well, but we as Guardians have a responsibility and it is high time we remember why the Light chose us.

*crack* TO NOT BE ZOGGIN COWARDLY SON OF BEE-THOTCHES! Ahem. Sorry about that.

4 RespuestasI believe the Vanguard should provide guidance for the younger Lightbearers and encourage a student-mentor dynamic between the newer Risen and the more veteran Soldiers. With the horrors the City experienced during the Red War and the repercussions there after, humanity seems to be in need of more refined warriors. Quality over quantity, so to say. An army of unkillable demi gods is only as useful as their powers if they're untrained. We all saw what happened when you take that power away. Those who relied in their Light as one does a crutch perished, and those who've honed their skills in combat and survival thrived. A mentorship hierarchy facilitated and lead by the Vanguard, where the green learn from the hardened, could both aid in the development of a capable and steadfast shield for humanity as well as re-establish the strong leadership all Guardians could look up to in the Vanguard.
-
Don’t care. They are no different in D2 than they were in D1. They want to spice up the Vanguard, throw us a curve ball. Put Uldren in the tower as the Hunter Vanguard. Crank up the tension. Either way it goes, I sided with the Drifter so I couldn’t care less.

47 RespuestasZavala’s cowardice can not be remedied. Unless we can go back in time to before he tried to force us to stay home and sit on our asses instead of doing the right thing and avenging his own fallen teammate. He needs to die soon

a refund?

A two piece, green bean, and a yam.

Nothing

1 RespuestaWhen can my guardian bust a nut on some alien tiddies is my question? I’ve destroyed Gods and God-pretenders alike, where is the harem I have so rightfully earned??
-
2 RespuestasCurrently? What do they do? Zavalla oversees strike opps... And Ikora...does...what, exactly? Who is watching over patrols? The problem is that as broken as they are, to disband the vanguard, with no speaker, would leave power in the hands of the three factions. And the guardians arent likely to take orders from them alone. Honestly, its amazing ant hunters still report to the tower as apposed to just staying in the feild

4 RespuestasObvious answer: god roll Service Revolver

1 RespuestaI want Oxygen SR to be “not ass.”

They're just...boring. Cayde was full of it and hilarious. Drifter has a that devil may care to him which is nice. Zavala and Ikora are too one sided. There's no enjoyment with them. The best of Zavala is when characters like Cayde and Asher are messing with him. If he could take on that leader trying to hold a band of ridiculous misfits together role he would be fine. With Ikora, you have a second boring character that essentially plays the same role story wise as Zavala. It'd be nice to see her get more personality and not play the 'vanguard mom' role. Have her be the fierce warmaiden of the guardians. Take the whole 'you'll find no mercy in me' thing to an 11 and have her just ready to tear the world a new one. Like give her a love interest and then brutally murder said love interest and get us a 'Willow becomes embodiment of vengeance' scenario.
-
I like Ikora. Or, more precisely, the woman who voices her.
-
I want them to take more of a role. Currently they're just a vendor.
-
Theyre all cardboard cutouts that give pairs of boots I dont need.

I think the vanguard has fallen apart due to the lack of the third member for so long and they know it. I think we are about to choose our own “destiny” if you will. You have the fabled Shadows of Yor which jokers wild has introduced us to and told us about. You have Calus’ Shadows (my personal pick) which would see us collaborating with the ascendent Cabal Emperor. And you have Spiders Gang which will probably not take you very far so it’s a little less likely we will be doin a whole lot with him in the future. I think destiny 3 will see us parting with the vanguard and finding a new way to protect our people of the Last City. The vanguard has nothing left to offer.
