I’d like to thank Bungie for something.

Last night I deleted Destiny 2. Without the incoming nerfs, I would have continued to make excuses & defended the game, even continuing to play. Like most of you, some friends & I obtained our Outbreak Perfected, thanks to being able to regen our supers via Ursa, Skull, & Orpheus. It’s the only way we finished it in time, by using our abilities to go hard in the paint. Our Titan was underleveled, but his banner shield kept us productive by holding down a flank while we took on one tank at a time. These weren’t even our first options, but the content demanded more than we were able to do in our first runs as solar titan & gun slinger, and storm caller. At no point did we get frustrated with the game, even though it took several attempts to complete the run. We kept going until we got it, and we celebrated our success! We took on the odds, and won. I can be completely honest, that it probably wouldn’t have happened with that team if it wasn’t for our ability to throw 3-4 supers each. We lived the power fantasy that was advertised in the first Destiny - “Become Legend”. It was challenging, but it was fun, arguably the most fun I’ve had in a long time playing Destiny 2. Certainly it wasn’t “easy”. After so many lies from the company, like - “see that mountain? You can go there”, “we’re not going to nerf things anymore”, ”we’re listening”, and “we’re going to communicate better”, I can’t do it anymore. The game is stale. No new maps, strikes, or compelling content. Every fun build is being destroyed, hard to get weapons are being crushed too. Rather than address the underlying problems that create the issues you are nerfing things for, it’s easier to just weaken the items in question. To hell with lifting things up to be competitive, am I right? What’s the point in chasing gear in a looter shooter game if it’s just going to be made irrelevant/totally useless? It’s not fun, it’s not rewarding, and it’s certainly not -blam!-ing meaningful. Bungie has been tone deaf on most topics since Forsaken launched. Cores, bloom, content, etc. We, your customers, have given feedback on the terrible decisions made, and the responses, (or lack thereof) have made it clear that Bungie is not concerned with our enjoyment of the game, as long as that grind is real and meaningful for encouraging people to spend money on silver to buy shitty cosmetics via loot boxes that add nothing of value to the money we’ve already spent. I’ve had as much fun playing Destiny as only a few other games, but Destiny 2 has been a shitshow from the beginning. I regret defending it when I have, because I helped encourage what the game has become. I am speaking with my time, money, and HD space. I won’t be buying any further Bungie products. I won’t be supporting content creators on YouTube or twitch that are pushing Destiny content. I’m only one person, but based on what I’ve seen on Twitter, here, and Reddit, I’m not alone. Your playerbase will continue to dwindle. I know you don’t care, and that’s the problem.
