Honestly I'm concerned what impact it may have on the community... I've stated my concerns and am not going to bother arguing about it further. I am just going to watch status and figures for the next few weeks and come to a conclusion based on data. Maybe this will be for the betterment of the community. Time will tell.

Ideally I hope that players come back to see the new content, have a good LFG experienced, and stay for a while. I’ve been in 4 clans since D2 launched. I came in with my D1 clan, they all quit, all three clans I’ve been in (before they all quit too) I got the invite because I played LFG with someone and we were successful and had fun. I hope that happens for people working on Zero Hour.

Not the gun, no. More the type of behavior I've been seeing surrounding the event. I am /expecting/ to see tomorrow (rather Sunday) that Saturday's pve numbers were around 700 to 750k, which is a dramatic upswing from where they have been for about the last month and a half, and to be fair that is a conservative number, it could be much higher. If the numbers are higher than that, and remain higher, then I will feel more confident that Bungie is appealing to the correct members of their playerbase and indicate they are moving in the right direction. What concerns me is that Destiny has a violently divided community. It's only grown more so as time has gone on. And since this started, it's reached kinda a fever pitch where people are being legitimately ugly to one another...... The reason I'm being cryptic is because I don't want to make a prediction and deal with people screaming at me because I don't need this toxicity in my life anymore. But if you really want to know.. I feel like Bungie has made a clear decision to not try to be "all things to all people" anymore, they've made a deliberate choice on "what kind of players they want playing their game" and that they don't care if that causes them to loose players as long as they retain the players they're interested in, and all I can do is watch the player statistics and hope to see signs they've made the right decision. I'm not placing a prediction, or giving odds on how it will turn out, I just hope that when the dust settles, the game will be better off for it. Maybe it will be... As I said, most people didn't have time to mess with this event until the weekend, I am fully expecting to see no less than 700 to 750 k, and possibly much higher. That will be a good sign they made the right decision.

Editado por Neuro Pixel: 5/12/2019 10:36:00 AMThe problem is Bungie have been doing EXACTLY what you have stated and the player base is declining , has done so for many months... They might not want to be everything to everyone but they certainly seem to be ONLY catering to the hardcore and elitists and this is what is driving players away from the game.. They are ignoring a very large part of the player base in doing so. As stated by others these days lots of groups , clans and LFG mobs etc.. state must have this gun or something similar yet refuse to help other achieve things .. Bungies seemingly constant catering toward the elite or hardcore base by these stupid timed quests like Whisper or Outbreak just further alienate the already divided community and if this is the path they choose they will soon find out they won’t have many purchasers of their next annual pass let alone D3 ... Very simple steps can be taken to appease the vast majority of players and yet keep the hardcore entertained ..

I do not disagree with you. But. Bungie is it's own company. I do not have to agree with their decisions. I point of fact have spent far too much time trying to counsel them about their decisions. What ever else, they surely must know that their actions are alienating part of their fan base. I do not believe these people are stupid. Misguided at times, but not stupid. They know their actions have consequences. I fear the only meaningful action people who disagree with their policy decisions can take is to simply not play the game, and not buy any more bungie products, until such time as they change. As it stand. Rather or not they can appease the majority of players it's simply becoming increasingly clear they don't want to. I feel this is a deliberate stance they're taking. I am picking up some other games for now. I can only hope that Bungie reconsiders their choices. But I have given up on asking them to change..... My counsel to you, Rogue, is that you treat it like an abusive relationship. And if you have not been in an abusive relationship, take this experience as the measure of one. They do not care what we think. They will use us for what we will allow them to take from us, and when they have no further use for us, they will discard us. You cannot ever change an abuser. When they say they've changed, they haven't, when they say they're sorry, they aren't. All you can do is leave with whatever you have left. But that is only my counsel, you must make your own decisions.
-
If they are purposely alienating large sections of the player base then they will certainly not be doing much with D3 or its launch will be a epic fail due to how they treat their consumers ... As said very simple things would see the vast majority of players content

Well the thing is this.... *deep breath... Blows out cheeks and rubs temples* dark souls is not "profitable" but it does have a small, highly toxic, non revenue generating, but none the less dedicated player base.... The game industry largely considers the "dark souls archetype" a failure in concept, something that cannot make money..... But...does generate enough revenue to /exist/..... Some businesses. Some developers. Aren't looking to make money hand over fist. They just want to make enough money to go into the office a few hours each day, do some work, go home, and still get a salary. I have assumed for too long that bungie wants to make a hugely popular game with a massive active playerbase that has atleast a 75 to 80% approval rating among two million or more players....... It is legitimately possible they legitimately want to only have a few hundred thousand dedicated players and simply aren't interested in retaining any players who are not the type of player Bungie "wants" to play their game. I don't think that is a wise marketing decision?.... But. If they don't want you and me playing their game, and don't care if we quit... Then I can't change that. All I can do is find other games to dedicate my time to.

I really hope they are not that type
There is no way it cracks 700k. Even if it did it’s not going to stay at 700k.
I do think it's possible Saturday could have hit 750 k. I'll see in a few hours. Sunday being mothers day? Probably less than Saturday. It won't be a sustained player hike but if it indicates Bungie's pushing in the right direction, it might see numbers stay in the 500 to 550 k area.... I'll be honestly a bit worried if it doesn't at lest hit 650k peak on Saturday. I'm a little concerned about Opulence because I have a feeling that it's literally just a raid... And I'm not sure "just a raid" will tide people over until September. However the way that they've been showing swords in all the media leading up to it, and in fact the feature character is depicted with a sword... It does give me hope that swords are getting a rework given that... And you may disagree, they have been somewhat underperforming since shotguns became the meta both pvp and pve...

I think there is no way we get all the players that played Friday, plus all the players who played Saturday, plus another 200k. Highly unlikely. Doesn’t matter since they won’t stay anyway. The daily players for the entire annual pass have been abysmal, and more stuff ships broken than fun.
-
Well, my predictive analytics are based on having consistently seen a roughly 150k to 200k upsurge on weekends that is usually absent during the week since player figures started declining, and am basing it on the surge of additional players during the early days of this quest being available. So 540k on Friday equals 700k to 750k on Saturday... But you are correct, it's pointless to debate as it won't be continuing past the next week or two, was just explaining where I got the number from. I don't think most people are trying for the catalyst which is what will really keep people engaged as the quest goes.. The pass has definitely felt like a let down to me but that's life right? Sometimes things pay off, sometimes they don't...

Fair. Either way, I've been at work 16 hours and my shift is about to end. They told me I could be anything I wanted (on my down shift) So I am going to become unconscious.

You were right.

It doesn’t bring me any pleasure to have been right, I want the game to thrive not barely survive. 619k pve isn’t terrible for a day during the Annual Pass era. Most days are in the 400-500k range.

I was just conceding the point. I do acknowledge when reality differs from my expectations. I feel it's important to acknowledge when you're wrong. Far too many people are unwilling to concede a point to the unfortunate realities that interfere. Humility is hard to embrace and it tests me daily to release my preconceived notions when facts do not bear out. Sometimes it's harder than others.
