Pie is overrated.
Seriously. The outer edge of the crust always burns before the top and bottom layers finish cooking. Usually that crust does nothing to hold the pie together anyway.
Don't even get me started on fruit pies. Fruit? In a dessert? No.
Donuts, cookies, cakes, puddings, cannolis, baklava--now those are desserts.
Edit: Chicken pot pie is acceptable. (I didn't actually edit this post, I just felt morally obligated to use the typical "Edit:" tag as saying something like "caveat" sounded to pretentious and something a pie eater would say.
