Or really Gambit in general.
Or Season of the Drifter. But mostly Gambit Prime.
It's really revealing that the Reckoning, despite being a Trials asset-flip, is only really played because they buffed the chances of receiving Gambit Prime weapons, so the players don't have to suffer through the mode this DLC was based around. Then you know you failed somewhere.
Then there was the time that Sentry armour perks were disabled for something like two weeks, and I personally never saw any complaining about it. Because nobody cares about Gambit Prime.
I played it for the first few weeks with my friends, got the 21% Delirium, and basically peaced out. For the first time I'm not interested in the title, the triumphs or any of the ancillary things they tacked onto it, because it's not fun enough for me to even care in the first place.
They really need to start dedicating this time and money to things the community actually cares about. New strikes, New PvP maps, new catalysts, for God's sake new, better looking armour and new perks, FACTIONS, TRIALS, new loot pools for both, exotic armour quests, anything except more Gambit. The only consolation to this is that now that it's done, we probably won't be seeing any Gambit -blam!- for the rest of D2.
EDIT: Let's try to keep it as civil as possible, if you like Gambit Prime, go for it. This is more of a discussion about the failings of the mode and how Bungie could've allocated this DLC to far better things.

5 RespuestasI wanted to like it so bad. But the invader system is too strong and invaders are too powerful as is. And the WHOLE game is controlled by if you have a good invader or not. All other tactics are tertiary. I like the reckoning, but I hate having to do prime to get the helmets.

8 RespuestasEditado por TheArtist: 5/6/2019 5:46:54 PMGambit was a good idea, but Bungie took shortcuts. SBMM is becoming industry standard for online competitive play. The days were people will suffer through unenjoyable play for the “fun” of 10% of the player base is ending. People don’t “get good”, they get GONE. Also Bungie made pvp far too frequent and too influential. So Gambit is basically episodes of pvp separated by almos meaningless pve. The lack of skill-matching makes for some truly miserable and futile play experiences. If your a strong pve player stuck with three dumb-dums, you have zero chance of carrying your team to victory. OTOH, one very strong pvp player can absolutely shutdown an opposing team, and put them into an inescapable hole. I’ve in games where teams sent over a strong invader and the dummies I was playing with were dying so often and with so many motes on them I that the opposing team is summoning their Prime, and we barely have ten motes banked. Because—by the time you regroup from the chaos of the first invasion—-the second one is starting. Gambit Prime suffers from most of these same problems. Made worse apparently by the power of the Invader armor set perks.

I loathe regular gambit and reckoning. I don’t mind prime and would play it, if I had the gear from reckoning. So....I’m done with that game mode. I don’t understand why they had to link the Prime gear to the reckoning. If gear came from drops or cashing in with the Drifter, I’d totally play Prime. As-is, no thanks.

6 RespuestasEditado por name: 5/6/2019 8:58:21 AMgambit as a whole didnt turned out as bungie expected, they probably thought they created the next best thing in FPS after battle royale , yet gambit is the worst game mode in a FPS ive played :)

1 RespuestaThe games general instability issues and Gambit issues helped me decide that I would never step one foot in there. Frame rate drops, pathfinding confusion that causes enemies to magically reappear somewhere else, random one hit kills from weaker enemies, bullet sponges, bosses not healing after 3+ kills while invading, and whatever other weird shit I haven't mentioned makes Gambit as a whole a crappy experience most of the time. So, why on Earth would I bother with Gambit Prime if the above issues still exist? Oh, and where is the catalyst for Malfeasance? Surely this season would have been a perfect time to bring it out, and maybe even a double/triple infamy weekend.

It's safe to say that they very disconnected from the community. They have no idea what the players want

Editado por l Beanie l: 5/7/2019 5:17:25 AMGambit and gambit prime are both tedious. Everyone said gambit was too long. 1 round would have been enough. Bungie knew this.. Gambit prime is half what we asked for, with a stupidly tedious boss encounter at the end. The majority of solos /duos are just wanting to play CASUALLY so mechanics like the boss fight - as simple as they are when teamed up - just put people off playing. It's boring. It drags on and on and on. Bore fest, just like original gambit after round one. Why do they keep wasting so much time and effort into things we don't want.. I think people would have been happy with original gambit with 1 round. Simple. Obviously it's likely that they just wanted to use assets they already had to bodge together a whole season of crap content.

8 RespuestasId like gambit if it didnt involve invasions. I know it supposed to be a hybrid game mode... so ill just not play it. Tone invadions down, and i might venture back into it.
-
I prefer regular Gambit to Prime. I don't even bother with the reckoning anymore. I would have just loved a season of the Maps. 4 new strikes, 6 new crucible maps and some new armor and weapons. I would have been happy with just that.

1 RespuestaNgl I haven't played Gambit since Joker's Wild came out.
I'm also glad I didn't buy the annual pass
-
They ruined as soon as they gave teams as with more health vs solo players.
-
Too much grind in the reckoning to get the best armour. It should have just been the highest level available
-
This game sucks

4 RespuestasWhat did they think would happen with Gambit and Gambit Prime? They thought they would be celebrated as innovators and that the PvE players would relent in their desire for PvE content and that we'd all jerk off to how cool and awesome they are. -blam!- Gambit and Gambit Prime.
-
"trials asset-flip" ...sigh do you know what an "asset-flip" REALLY is? its when a game development foundation gets re-labeled and sold as something 'complete'. making a new map/arena, but with the same aesthetics as a previously existing environment, is NOT an "asset-flip", it is a new map/arena that keeps in line with the aesthetics the story calls for, and in this case, its affiliated with the nine, so its going to resemble the space previously visited/presented by the nine.

15 RespuestasI dislike gambit so I have never done a single gambit prime match so far. This means I basically haven't done anything for this entire DLC, since even things like the alliance quest requires you to do it, but I am perfectly fine with that. I am not about to play a game mode that I hate for loot that I don't care about. As soon as this DLC dropped and I saw what it was actually all about, I knew I was basically done with this game for a while, maybe I will come back for the raid in the next DLC, not really sure.

1 RespuestaYeah I knew from the moment they called it "sweatier gambit" that it was gonna not he super popular
-
I dismantled every peice of Gambit Prime armor I have ever received (or used as infusion fuel). That's how little I care about Gambit Prime. I got the pinnacle machine gun, that's all I wanted from Gambit this season. Oh, and Drifter calls me a snitch now, which is pretty awesome actually.
-
1 RespuestaOne good thing came out of it: testing out armor set perks. Sure it's only for Gambit but maybe they'll figure out how to make these for general use.
-
Gambit sucks.
-
I like Gambit Prime. Downvote awayyyy.
-
The only decent role is invader. All the others are lackluster, boring or pointless.

36 RespuestasThis whole game in general, especially since the only people really left are hardcore, has turned into sweaty nonsense. All you see in PvP are meta tier hunters. All you see in Gambit are meta tier hunters. Heck, the only time I see something other than teams of hunters are in Reckoning. What's with all the hunters? I see a warlock here and there... Where are all the Titans at?? Did y'all go on vacation or something??

20 RespuestasPlayed a few games for the first gambit prime weekly milestone and havent touched it since. Game goes to whichever team has an invader with a rampage hammerhead

Warning: Infinity War / Endgame meme reference and minimal spoiler in my reply
D2 was like Thanos snap to D1. It wiped half the gaming population. Gambit prime was like Thanos revisiting the survivors to finish off the remaining losers. I won't quote but there is a dialogue in Endgame which he says about his mistake and that perfectly fits this analogy 😂
I think it's safe to say that most things in D2 did not turn out how Bungie was expecting.
