After many years of being completely disinterested in the Marvel movies (and superhero movies in general) I’ve finally decided to watch them and find out what all the fuss is about. These movies seem like a cultural phenomenon at this point. So I don’t want to be like one of those people that has never seen Star Wars.
However I don’t have the time or the inclination to watch all of them (there seems to be a lot of them). So my question is which movies can I skip and which movies do I have to watch to know what’s going on? Can I skip Ant-man or Doctor Strange for example? Also do I need to watch them in order of release or is there a better way to do it?
Disclaimer: I have already seen Iron Man 1, the Avengers 1 and Guardians of the Galaxy 1. They were all entertaining movies but for some reason I never watched any of the others.

All you really need are the last two captain America movies, third Thor, Avengers movies, Strange, and someone to tell you the plot of Ant-Man and the Wasp. That movie has some relevant details, but it’s garbage.

... All the Avengers, Ragnarok, the third Iron Man, Winter Soldier, All of the thors, infinity War (duh) Black Panther, the first Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, Civil War and that's it that I think you have to watch...
not included in the DLC
I’d watch the first one of each hero, all the Avengers, and Civil War. I’m sure can find a recap video on YouTube though. The credits scenes for many of them hint at what’s about to come to an end this weekend with Endgame. My personal favorites among the individual films have been all the Thor and Guardians films, as well as Black Panther.

4 RespuestasI like the Captain America movies; I’d also recommend Black Panther just because it’s an awesome movie.
baited
All of the avengers and civil war

3 RespuestasJust watch Homecoming, Black Panther, Ragnarok, Infinity War, Winter Soldier & Doctor Strange. The rest are either not that important in the grand scheme or mostly very mediocre.

Watch GotG2 because it could lead up to the finale of Endgame. Watch Thor Ragnarok. The first Captain America is important. Civil War is too. Watch Spiderman Homecoming. All the Avengers films. Captain Marvel is important as well. If you watch all these you will have a good understanding for Endgame. Oh, and Black Panther.
