I know this idea gets floated around, but the community needs to speak out harder on this one. Pre-Forsaken armor and weapons are basically just eating up hard drive space right now. They have no use anymore thanks to the new loot system. The new system isn't perfect, but it's what we have. And the fact that Bungie re-tooled the loot system without retroactively updating the old sets is frankly, baffling. Other games, other MMOs, other looters have gone through multiple loot reworks, and every time I've seen it done, the old stuff gets the same treatment the new stuff did. Bungie is to date the only studio I know of who just said "nah, we good" and effectively made half of the cosmetic content in their game completely useless. It still blows my mind how many armor pieces and guns exist in content that isn't even that old... And it's been artificially made obsolete by Bungie's refusal to go back and do anything about it. But we have a second problem: The fact that an obscene amount of grinding is required to get a good set of perks on the Y2 armor that we do want. Or, the fact that the perks you want may only be availible on certain armors. These two factors destroy fashion in D2, and with so many strong art assets in the game... Again... Boggles my mind. These two problems are solved with a Transmog system: The ability to put whatever model you want on top of whatever stats you want. Pick a piece of armor with the perks you want... Pick a piece of armor that looks good to you... And combine them. It's a simple concept that has existed in MMOs and looters for a decade. And a concept that, for some unfathomable reason, has not made its way into Destiny. Bungie, do you want a use for Enhancement Cores that the community will actually support? 10 Enhancement Cores = 1 Transmogrification. Done. 3 birds: - Useless Year 1 Armor - Perks locked to undesirable armor - People hate Enhancement Cores 1 stone: - A god damned transmog system. Come on Bungie. Even you have to admit it's a good idea.
