Why? dont like team modes? Get killed by the invader too much? Dont like to bank motes? Always get dominated when invading? Primeval too hard to kill?

The basic design loop of Gambit is just really uninteresting mechanically; kill mobs, run over their corpses to collect junk they drop, and run somewhere else to drop it off. And if you don’t want to be running into said piles of corpses to collect said junk because you favor longer ranged gunplay, chances are you’re under contributing to your team, especially with the mote despawn rate. I have no doubt there are players who do enjoy Gambit at its core, but there’s definitely a lot of us who find it mind-numbingly uninteresting.

For me, it's all linked. I don't enjoy gambit after killing myself getting breakneck n playing 4 stacks nonstop. It's just another weekly chore to get the engram n games took too long. Then they add prime n make it 4 games for the engram, so that's another chore of 1hr15 Vs 4 stacks n the boss takes forever to kill, it's just invade Vs invade for 10 mins. Then that links into Reckoning, another chore, complete 6 reckonings, with randoms n awful mm were you can't even get an instance of 4 people starting together, it's another chore adding more time to the other chores. Loots poor, it's too time consuming, and it's very solo unfriendly.

Editado por SorrowW0lf: 4/4/2019 4:42:05 PMA lot of people here constantly use the term, "chore," what do you mean by this? From what I can tell, people don't like the grind. Which is fair, there are many game genres that don't contain any grind, that are straight, linear play progressions. But there are many games that include grind mechanics. The Division 2 keeps being brought up as a better looter, but in order to advance further, it still has a grind in its endgame. And I'm not saying that the Destiny universe, is a true mmo, but it clearly has similarities to the basic concept of an mmo. And mmo's contain a grind, or, "chores," as you put it. So is it really a Destiny issue, or simply a, "you," issue? There is nothing wrong with not liking games that are grindy, or that require playing the same content repeatedly in order to level your game character. But to play a game that does contain a grind, and then complaining about that grind, seems odd to me. If you aren't into having to grind out content, then simply don't play games that require it. To me it's like someone who doesn't care for battle royale games, but then plays Pub G, or Fortnite, and then complains or bashes those games for having battle Royale aspects. Not every games has to be enjoyed by every gamer. If you don't enjoy the grind, what do you want Destiny to be? Do you just want to play each piece of content once, and then be done? Because you can, to a certain extent. I mean you have to grind to be high enough power to complete endgame content, but if you don't want play endgame content, you don't have to. It will clearly limit the amount of content you get to play, but no one is forcing you to grind. I guess my main question is, if there was no grind, what activities do you actually enjoy enough to not call a, "chore?"

Fwiw, I put 14'000 hours into D1 n I've put around 4000 into D2, I have all day to play every day, n even I struggle.
-
Well, good God man, I think I know your problem. You play too much. Lol. I take huge breaks from playing any video game throughout the year. I do other stuff, absorb other media. I had a little over 1800 hours in D1. And am around 700 hrs in D2. You are going to get burned out with play time. And really Bungie shouldn't have to provide you with content that is unique enough to survive that kind of play time. That is a super unrealistic expectation to have for any game dev. You should really take a break. As a doctor, I would suggest a vacation from gaming for a bit. And if you aren't currently taking a vitamin D supplement, you should. You have to get even less sun than I do, and I am a nocturnal ginger, who sleeps most of day, and works at night.
-
I've worked nights btw, very niche. Hurt my soul, those last 2 hours kill you :) as you'll know.
-
I'm autistic, have Asperger's and I'm retired kind of. Huge social anxiety so rarely go out. Wife works, kids at uni n school, I'm home with my dogs all day, so lots of free time. The issue isn't I don't have enough to do, the issue is there isn't enough time to do it all lol.
-
Ah, and by your verbiage I'm guessing you are English? Or live in Europe? Should definitely be on vitamin D then. Need to get an extra, non gaming hobby, my friend. YouTube, or movies, or something. Perhaps jigsaw puzzles? I have had several patients with your mindset, really enjoy puzzles. They can be stimulating as well as, a way to appreciate beautiful scenery.
-
I don't just game, I watch Netflix, YouTube, Twitch, do housework, gardening,, cook, breed dogs, I don't just game 20 hrs a day. N yes I'm English.
-
Okay, glad to hear that. Still should probably take a break from gaming, or at least Destiny. A break from the grind will do you some good. And when you come back for season 7, you will have fresh eyes, and some of the stain of burnout will have faded. Maybe just hop on to pick up your weekly drifter/vanguard rewards. And maybe to do the Xur bounties. The expansion of the Xur lore is new and unique, and only has really needed a strike and a few kill bounties, at least so far anyways.

Editado por Uni: 4/4/2019 8:18:59 PMBy chore, I mean if you want to level up you have to do the powerful engram list, also if you don't like leaving boxes unchecked in your home screen, so you have Daily strike 3x weekly strikes Daily PvP 5x weekly PvP Nightfall 100k Nightfall 3x weekly story 2 days of dreaming city bounties Dreaming city story Blind well Ascendant challenge Shattered Throne Weekly forge frames Daily forge bounties Daily gambit 3x weekly gambit 4x gambit prime 6x reckoning Weekly heroic adventure Last wish Scourge of the past That's 2 solid days hardcore grind, on 1 character, 3 characters thats 6 days nonstop grind. And that's not even mentioning events, iron banner, chasing rolls, exotic quests, pinnacle weapons. In periods of D1 there where no tickboxes and you levelled as you played anything, I'd do bits n then chase rolls or run exotic checkpoints chasing Gally, or farming coins in prison. In D2 it's tedium, it never ends, you do all that and then it's a new week and repeat. Can't even consider other games. It's also old content, most if it 18 months old, no new maps, no new strikes, no new weapons or armour , no factions, no trials, so it's all mundane and in no way exciting. That's why it's a chore list.
-
Beautiful. Well laid out road map of tedium.
-
Exactly.
-
For me having to grind stuff that is not enjoyable is a chore. D2 strikes feel like a chore simply because i need to do them for the powerful engram, but it isnt fun or enjoyable. in D1 i actually enjoyed farming for imago loop but D2 feels like it lost something special from D1.
-
I can definitely see that. Strikes are definitely less fun without the strike specific loot. I guess the difference between you and I, is I just simply don't play the strikes anymore. Unless I have to for a quest. After the powerful engram patch this season, I went from 662 on both my Hunter and my Titan, to 698 on Hunter and 693 on my Titan in maybe 3 weeks. And there are tons of daily weekly stuff I just ignored. Other than also grinding IB last week, which is something I do every time it is around, I did my same basic routine. To preface it, I have a full set of Dreaming city gear on all 3 of my characters. I say that, because completing things in the Dreaming City drops a lot of gear, so having a set on each character eliminates needing to use as many cores, and instead can get huge jumps with just using glimmer. I run the ascendant challenge and the blind well weekly. And collect the planet materials for infusion. Then I personally, enjoy pvp so run 5 matches of crucible. Then I swap to my tier 2 set and run 4 to 6 Gambit Prime matches, at least 4, and maybe a couple extra to top of infamy bounties. Then I play 3 normal gambit matches and work on those bounties. I just do that every week. No strikes, no nightfalls, no raids, no daily stories, no heroic adventures. And now that my masterworked pulse, sniper, and my rocket launcher are all 700, my hunter should be 700 by end of the weekend, with the Titan not long after. I just play what doesn't bore me, and have progressed fairly quickly for someone not doing raids or nightfalls, I think. None of it feels like a chore, simply just a video game.
-
pvp is the only thing that doesnt feel mind numbing to me, but even the pvp meta sucks. i honestly dont know why i play this game, i play pvp alot but dont particularly enjoy it.
-
Or they just don't like it? Is that an issue?
-
Its hard for Bungie to use this information if there isnt any detail. Basically OP is wasting their time posting vague information like this. Thanks for coming to his aid.
-
its quite clear he didnt want to give info on it as most players just want it gone , why give details on something you want gone? , its not really hard to understand theres no detailed description of not wanting it there at all lol
-
Who is your source for "most players just want it gone"? Did Bungie say that numbers were low?
-
I enjoy it, i mostly play solo too. I havent heard that most players want it gone. Interesting.
