Bungie, again, STOP!!!!

From the Worm Ornaments, to the Thunderlord Ornaments, now the Thorn Ornaments. You keep on charging money for these without giving us an option to earn them by playing the Game. You need to start taking after Warframe and Anthem and not only sell the Ornaments via Eververse/Silver, but let us earn them via Gameplay and or let us purchase them via Bright Dust. It’s bullshit. *smh* you’re being as greedy as Activision/EA. Everyone said Microtransactions were your Idea and I said no, it’s Activisions. Now that you have parted ways with them, I’m now convinced and agree with many who say it was your idea. You greedy -blam!-s.

  • They need money, dude. I mean, If the price for the thorn ornaments are the same as they were for thunderlord and whisper's ornaments, then there's a problem, but they need some money to keep their shit going. They don't have activision to pick up their financial slack anymore. One of the bad things about going solo. As long as the items being sold are purely cosmetic and they aren't exorbitantly priced, you can't really complain.

    • Bungie are just plain incompetent at this point you may be better off directing your feedback towards someone like Unknown-player or Datto or the likes. Maybe just slip in a D2 feedback request amongst the video replies for example ;)

        • A full priced game with charged DLC should not have microtransactions. Period. Personally, I think any non mobile game shouldn’t have microtransactions, but I digress. If I paid full $60 for a game, then I should be able to get everything that game has to offer. If I pay $35 for an Annual Pass, I should get all the content. If Bungie wants to charge $10 for a -blam!-ing ornament like a free to play game or an MMO, then they shouldn’t be charging for the base game. Either make the game f2p, or charge like $10 for the disc and a subscription fee like an MMO. They can’t have both.

            • ...micro transactions are part of all games now. Just a fact of life. Bungie has to put these small micros in the game to try making some money back after they had to pay $160 million to get this thing away from Activision before they drove it anymore into the ground. Cosmetics DO NOT impact gameplay so there is ZERO reason to complain. If you had to pay money for a specific gun that was OP that would be a different story. I bought the ornament immediately because it looks dope with all the bone detail, and I’m willing to help support Bungie so they can build the game they want to build. I mean I even went back and bought ornaments for WoTW too after Bungie got the full publishing rights from Activision.

I feel like if the ornaments, and the other purchase-only cosmetics, could be earned without having to buy them, more people would actually buy them. Because right now, if you see someone with something that is only available through purchase, most people I know kinda go "ewwww, that dude spent 10 bucks on an emote? What a rube!" So people refrain from buying them because they dont want to be embarrassed If they were available without spending cash, at least people who bought them could lie and say they got a lucky drop, instead of having to be embarrassed that they spent cash on an emote. I'm not saying that people should be embarrassed for it, it's your money, so and it however you want, just most people I know personally would be embarrassed. But then again, most people I know wouldn't buy them in the first place

... I bought the thorn ornament and I don’t even know if I like it that much... I need help — microtransactions are designed to trap weak willed people like me.

                  • When they announced the Activision split I said this was going to be bad for the game..Activsion provided Bungie the money to keep the game running and two studio's to help Bungie make content... In return Activision required them to release a certain amount of DLC each year and hit sales targets which they was doing.... How this was done was 100% down to Bungie as they own the IP and arre an Interdependent studio with full control... Loosing Activision meant they loose the money supporting the game and they loose the two studio's supporting the game... So what I said was people should expect less content, lower quality and a more microtranactions going forward as Bungie need to keep revenue coming in and need to continue working on other projects they have committed too for Netease for example.

                    • Yeah totally agree, it's a full priced game and we should be able to earn all the content and items without paying extra. I'm sure i've said this before but too many people defend bungie locking things behind mtx. Personally i'd be fine with it if they made it a timed exclusive (2 weeks for a silver only purchase, then it'd added to the eververse engram loot pool)

                      • I don't like microtransactions, but selling ornaments for real money does not bother me. We have a separate pool for cosmetics we can earn, and then there are the extras that you can straight out buy rather than the lootbox method. Works just fine in my opinion. Greedy would be the Osiris release where there were more paid loot than there were items being added in the regular pool. Meh....

I'll chip in and start off by saying I hate micro transactions and how they are a common practice now. Off topic but do you guys remember when a game came out that was the final release no DLC or patches therefore the game had to be polished and complete. I miss those days. Unfortunately that is the norm now and we just have to face it. However for me to just face it the micro transactions have to be COSMETIC only no pay to win crap. Don't listen to the toxic people saying get a job or dumb shit like that, their brains can't offer some feedback or have a normal conversation so they resort to being toxic, and they sleep in mommy and daddy's house telling us to get a job.

                          • Are you seriously complaining about paid cosmetics? Bro the game practically poops notorious engrams at you for sone of the cosmetics. Others you can't have it for free because if that wss the case this game would tank quick especially with this toxic community that demands content but don't even fund the game. Warframe is littered with microtransactions and the only reason it gets a pass is because its free and Anthem you pay for everything or grind an eternity for trash ones. This is not sone homeless shelter for bums.

                            • You cant be serious? This is common practice in almost all games now, especially AAA Titles. Its a cosmetic item that has no impact on the game, this is exactly what Bungie should be doing to make money for future DLC/events. The got the response they wanted from you as in: I really want this and now have to pay real money for it. Destiny is a now a service platform providing you with lots of options to play. This entertainment cost money.

                              • I’m not against the paid cosmetics but I do wish they were less expensive. I don’t need more shaders nor notorious engrams. If you’re selling the specific item then just sell it. Sell the ship et al for 200 silver and be done with it.

                                • Capitalism... They offer an item for actual money and you don't have to get it, if you don't want to pay for it. If enough people don't buy it, then it will either change their mentality and make it free OR they will still charge and not care OR they will stop making cosmetic items for exotic / legendary items. Who cares what they want to do by charging? If you think it's dumb to pay money for an item, then don't do it. Fortnite has cosmetic crap throughout their free game and people buy that up like bottled water during a hurricane. They made more in profits over Destiny last year by a lot and they are a "free to play Battle Royal" on those useless cosmetic purchases. If people have extra money for any reason and they decide they want to buy cosmetic items for video games, let them. Does it hurt you? No. Does it hurt me? No. Just my opinion... but realistically these arguments are always going on, in almost every video game, with no end to the problem. Why spend so much time complaining about not getting an ornament for the Thorn or whatever when you can either stop playing the game or just not buy it.
