Hi all, hope everyone is having a good day,
This is my second post about the Anarchy grenade launcher, and exotic drops. I completed 3 more SOTP runs yesterday, and still no dice on the exotic. Next week will mark 4 months of grinding for this (16 weeks) so stay tuned!
Scourge of the Past Clears: 48
SOTP Full Clears: 36
SOTP Clears *with Loot*: 45
^^^This part is very important. I'm sure we've all seen/heard a post of someone complaining about a raid drop, stating how they've done the raid 50, 60, 70+ times and not gotten the exotic. For SOTP, the MAXIMUM number of clears with loot on an account is 48. This accounts for having 3 characters, and running the raid once a week on each character for every week since it launched.
Note that I have run the raid on 3 characters every week except for launch week. This puts my RNG at almost the worst possible for this raid (obviously the worst possible RNG is to have run the raid 3x a week, every week, and not get the exotic, which would be 48 attempts).
I wanted to write this post, not out of anger (as I fully have 0 expectations to get the exotic now), but simply to see what you think, and hopefully to make some impact with Bungie. I simply don't understand how they can let players like me go almost 4 months doing an activity, and not get its best rewards. I know some people will tell me "you weren't around for Gjallarhorn or Mythoclast, you don't know bad RNG", and they're correct. This is simply my personal case. I'll be posting again after I run my raids for next reset, March 26th, 2019.
ON ANOTHER NOTE: My all around RNG isn't any better. I have pulled 8-9 exotics so far in the current season, with 5 of them on my Warlock (my main). Each one of these has been a duplicate, and I haven't gotten any of the new gauntlets yet. A fix for this would be much appreciated. I fully believe that RNG is broken and they need to implement some form of real protection against duplicates. Exotics are rare enough as it is, you don't need to give us ultra-rare exotics AND an ultra high chance of getting duplicates. That makes it harder to get new exotics on an exponential level. This is just like the Nova Warp nerf--instead of adjusting one factor that needed fixing, they went way too far and blew up the whole system.
EDIT: On the topic of RNG, as some of you have mentioned, I believe (and have written about before) that their RNG system is "too random", as mathematically a truly random system will literally lead to players never getting certain rewards like the raid exotic. As far as we know, the results of one raid's loot have 0 effect on your next raids loot, they are entirely independent. Say for instance, Anarchy has a 3% chance to drop. That means that it is expected for you to pull 3 Anarchys in 100 raid runs. However, some people might pull 8, some people might pull 35, and others may pull 0. What I'm saying is that we need a system which does not make raid completions independent, but instead buffs your chance significantly as you complete the activity. In addition, stronger duplicate protection is needed in all parts of the game.
IMPORTANT EDIT #2!!!:
I see a lot of people mentioning that removing RNG is unreasonable! I wanted to apologize for the confusion here--when I say remove, I mean remove the purely aspect of it! Raid drops, if done through RNG, should be tied to probabilities based on the number of raid clears, so that nobody has to spend such an obnoxious amount of time working for a weapon. I did not mean remove RNG all together as that would lead to a lot of design issues (and likely isn't possible in the games current state). Sorry about the poor wording! I would remove that from the poll but I can't edit the questions after they've been answered.

10 RespuestasRNG is random number generator. It is random. You may get a stretch without loot or continuously get the same loot. All those PvP kids out there, was it a nonstop every run Dust Rock Blues drop? Probably not unless your RNG was lucky. Same thing for people trying to get the nightfall weapons. Had to get lucky. RNG is fine, just might not be in your favor. Now the number system might be bugged, but who knows. Nobody does, not even Bungie as they have shown in the past, but due to the wide range of rewards and the set exotic drop rate in action, it can lower the percent of getting anarchy by 90%. It isn’t RNG it is the numbers and chances. So, may the odds ever be on your favor. TLDR: RNG is fine. It is based on luck.
