I cant do raids as it requires voice/hearing communication. I love this game. Love it! I got it when it was free back in october was it? and i have been hooked ever since!
I was actually part of a raid one time with a group of understanding guys willing to work with me despite the added challenges of my hearing loss. I have not been able to repeat that experience. I would love to do some of these raids.
Thats my one complaint about this game. :(
*Edit*
I should note that i play on the PC only.

Editado por Hellfire: 3/6/2019 4:16:21 AMBuild some ears. Its easy just takes 3 years of robotics. Or use dragon software. Loop audio through a soundboard. Speech to text. Or play on PC with chatbox.

I raided with a guy in D1 that was deaf and mute. It takes a while getting started but after a couple of runs he was a great guy to run with. We added a messenger to make communication easier. (Was not aware of Discord then) If I was on PC (Xbox) I would invite you to run with us.

On the destiny subreddit, I heard about an all-deaf clan that finished the Petra’s Run. I don’t have the URL, but you can give it a google if you want. Apparently, there is a software that converts ASL into text, then puts it into Discord or similar things.

I for one know that you don’t have to just use your ears in a raid, I advise you keel over and try the destiny 1 raids with a guide that can help! Those raids don’t require you to hear call outs, rather it’s all about observation o3o seeing is better than hearing in this case

I can relate to you my man, I have a severe hearing loss which is almost profound, I play raids a lot. But sometimes I can’t hear, until I got big head phones or I use sometimes a mini speaker it helps, goodluck guradian!

I can relate to this somewhat since my left ear is deft It really sucks..but what can you do

9 RespuestasHow are you writing this if youre deaf? 🤔

hey. i can help you do raids on pc. i help people who don’t have mics/can’t communicate all the time. feel free to message me on bungie and we can set up a time or something. :)

Last wish would b tough without being able to hear. But Scourge shouldn’t b an issue if your role is map defender. 4 encounters, 2 u defend map, the other two it really doesn’t matter as the sparrow part requires 2 people max and phase 1 can b easily 5 manned, even 4 if needed

4 RespuestasRemember that time the community carried a dead guy through the raids?

4 RespuestasUsed to be in a clan with someone else who was hearing impaired and she was awesome. We used emotes to label positions etc and she watched vids and knew what to do. But she was awesome and one of the best people i played with in d1. So you can do it buddy.
-
14 RespuestasThe problem is that you people just never listen.

1 RespuestaI am commenting hoping that this will bump this thread higher up, I hope someone from Bungie sees this and takes notice, you have alot of love for the game and are trying to find a way to work through and obstacle, and I respect the hell out of that ! If i was on PC i would be honored to play with you bro, you ever make the switch to xbox one, hit me up!
-
In game chat is your best bet, that or reading up a bunch on the raids. I raided with a deaf lad on xbox once, he messaged us saying he knew what he was doing so we messaged we would keep him along as long as he proved he did. We would just message stats before an encounter started, worked for us. Sadly much of the community isn’t willing to work with people who are unable to communicate “normally” For what its worth, If i were on PC i would totally help you out
-
Do you play “greased up” or without grease?
-
Since you play on pc most would help you trough the chat. Also i wish bungie should add a ping function like apex online, seriously the best feature ever for them who can't comunicate or have a weak language/speech. And this would help solo players a lot.

You don’t need to do raids to get powerful bro I haven’t don’t a raid since kings fall and always got max power before the next dlc
-
There was a raid team that did it often who were all deaf it was a while ago but they persevered and got it done try looking for the post sorry I can't help anymore than that good luck getting it done

Editado por ThisMightBeBad: 3/4/2019 10:36:03 PMFirst of all, that's awesome that you're opening up to the community for advice. As far as you "hearing" your fire team members, is there software you're able to use to know what your fire team is saying? I'm not too knowledgeable about that piece. But I do have a recommendation for your fireteam hearing you: I'm a musician, and there are a lot of really cool things you can do with a "sampler". You could use computer text-to-speech software to "say" what you would want to say, then use a sampler to record those phrases, count downs, etc., commonly during these raids. Just keep the sample near by on your computer desk and have a speaker hooked up to it and turn it up loud! Example: You could record numbers, and then hit the corresponding pads on the sampler based on what number you want it to "say". Another example: if you get a list of the most common phrases used during parts of the raid, you could use that text-to-speech software to "say it", record each one, and again play them back as needed. It's as simple as tapping a touch pad and going right back to slaying your enemy :) There's a bunch of user friendly sites to help you get started using a sampler. Companies like Korg, Roland, Akai, Pioneer, all make budget friendly samplers. Instead of making "beats" you'd be making a voice for your guardian! I hope this helps brother! I'm not a big fan of raids in general, but I'm a big fan of people doing what they wanna do and overcoming challenges in their lives. Godspeed! Quick edit: I would also "record" a quick explanation of what you're using so your fire team knows. Good luck!

Is the problem that you can’t hear? I’ll be here all week...
-
Most of the time when I have done the raid with randoms the teams are very understanding. so if you would just tell why you can't use a mic I think most players would let you raid anyway. Or just join a clan and raid with them :)
-
There’s a few deaf clan in here, if I’m not mistaken a deaf clan was the first clan to clear one of the raids when it first came out!! Look around or ask dmg or cozmo for assistant. Good luck guardian!!!
-
I mean watch some videos. I'm sure you have more keen senses visually because of the deaf impairment. Most you tube videos can have a text bar also. Then just jump into said activity and keep attempting it. Tell the team in a msg. Trial and error really

1 RespuestaWell I wouldn’t say that’s completely true. In my many Sherpa runs I have helped 2 people that where mute and 3 that where deaf. Hell one of the raids I had done with one of the deaf person was leviathan. It did suck but was great helping him get into raiding also since. What I recommend is if you get into a raid explain what’s going on and if you have a chill group they won’t mind seeing as you are on pc you have a text chat. If you get booted say o well cause those kids are impatient and are just not willing to “waste time”.
