Seriously, who at the Bungie HQ thought that removing a system that allowed people to get stuff they wanted free would be better replaced with bundles they'd have to buy with real money.... Wasn't the goal of prismatic matrixes to NOT have people paying for what they want?
If you go forth with this change, you will again have put another tear in the communities trust towards you. No one asked for this, and this does the opposite of help. Please reconsider.
Edit: Ok, some people seem confused as to why this is so bad. Maybe saying it would kill the game is a bit much, but this definitely puts another tear in their relationship with us. Why? They took a free way to get stuff and replaced it with a paid method. I don't care if the paid method lets you KNOW what you're gettting, you still got a free way to get things removed in favor of a paid method. And to those that are saying "but it's easy to get everything from the Eververse store, stop whining." That's for YOU. For me, I get nothing but ghost shells and gifts of bright dust. Just because you CAN get everything within a certain season without paying doesn't mean you will. Not that having the matrixes around will guarantee you'll get them all, but it was a good help, at least for me.
And also, no. Bungie needing money doesn't warrant the removal of the matrixes. They could have easily kept them and added the paid bundles, and I, nor most other people, would've gave a heck.
Edit 2: Changed the title and some of the wording to make it a bit less overdramatic. But my main point still stands. It's a bad idea to remove Prismatic Matrixes.

18 RespuestasThey didn't "take away free stuff" it's all exactly the same minus the matrix which was a pointless joke anyway since playing even a moderate amount on a single character got basically everything before the season was half over. What doesn't drop for you in the dozens of EV engrams you get a week, you can still buy with bright dust when they're in the weekly pool. All this does is give people who want to spend silver to purchase things a direct method instead of rolling the dice on RNG packages. This is a non issue.

I’ll say it for the people in the back. COSMETIC ITEMS PF’s were a waste anyways. I haven’t been able to use one in well over a month.
-
5 RespuestasNo its not -blam!-ing deal with it . I am so sick of you clowns who follow the old way of gaming

1 RespuestaMaybe they can afford Dedicated servers if I buy silver

I’m personally thinking it’s a win/lose scenario. It’s a win since it’s moving away from some gambling issues of the past, not to mention prismatic matrixes were not exactly the best thing in general. It’s a lose like what you said, hurts the relationship . But considering Bungie spent 160 million fat ones just to get publishing rights, I’m willing to give em a little bit of slack. Keyword: Little I’m still being very cautious about all of this

Not making money as a business is a bad idea. Introducing a new revenue stream to help pay for future content. That’s just business as usual. If you sold lemon aid and the cost of lemons went up, does the price of your product go up? Or does it stay the same? You don’t need to buy anything you know. It’s just there if you want to. Gas, food, taxes all go up all the time with no cost of living and increase. When was the last time you wrote you elected officials?
-
Stop complaining your money is going straight to bungie and they need it right now just like they need us.... if you don't like it and want to be catered too then this isnt the game for you.
-
They no longer have a money backer to help them pay for things. I'm surprised they did it this small instead of splashing evervese even more worse then she all ready is.
-
3 RespuestasThe prismatic matrix only gets you 1 additional engram per week unless you spend silver. They were obviously putting it there to see if the hit list got people to spend $ and it didn’t. How impactful is losing that one vanity item if you don’t buy silver anyway? Please let me know if I am missing something, but this does not look like a huge deal.

2 RespuestasYou or others would still complain. No matter what Bungie does, these forums are wallpapered in negative feedback where similar actions (see also: Anthem, $60 game with 1/4 the content and paid cosmetics) receives a full pass - unless you're playing Anthem and posting on their forums. Who do you think pays for these games continuous content, exactly?
-
1 RespuestaMTX purchased with real money can be used in the player's favor. Bungie needs them to remain profitable (or more profitable). Players can literally refuse to buy them unless Bungie starts listening and implementing the feedback of more than just a very small segment of the player population. So their existence gives the average player at least a little leverage.

2 RespuestasEditado por Cuduni: 3/2/2019 1:45:37 AMOMG it's not free!!! I'll post this as I eat a 10 dollar meal from McDonald's but I WILL NOT PAY MONEY TO SUPPORT A GAME I HAVE 500 HOURS ON!!! Now let me keep my money to feed my fat ass.

I love how they make these kind of greedy decisions after Activision left, hmmmmmm.....

1 RespuestaEditado por draycole: 3/2/2019 5:52:02 AMTheres 1 item thats exclusive to each silver purchasable bundle. Everything else in said bundle can be earned by just playing the game Might i also add, even with prismatic thingies not everything was earnable without silver/some other kind of real world purchase

It literally changes nothing for those of us with any self control.

Agreed. Terrible move.

Just another reason to abandon this game.

2 Respuestasthey should add weapons for money oh wait cry babies can not handle change

Because it's literally worthless? You get one freebie per week and it's the same crap found in regular brights. You could replace prismatics with brights and get the same result. The matrix was a good concept that Bungie murdered before it even started. An argument could be made if there were more freebies, but as it is now, the prismatics are just shittier brights.

1 RespuestaBet? Destiny will live on. And I support them

Unpopular opinion: Eververse is not a game feature, its a premium store. Unlike other games D2 gives you the chance to acquire a ton of premium vanity items for free and it will continue to do so. That change does not affect the gameplay in any way.
-
1 RespuestaDon't buy them. I don't pay any attention to eververse and never had. I still have 1k in silver and over 51k in bright shit. Anything she sells, I will not be buying. They can market it anyway they want....Not interested.
-
Haha. Death sentence. Man you kids are really hilarious with how much you overreact.
-
If the items you're getting were something that would affect gameplay, yes it would kill the game. But it's cosmetic. Only thing it'll harm is players going into a mood. Where I get where you're coming from, multiple posts, since the release of D2, have stated that this would kill the game, that would kill the game. Or, causing players to leave the game dry. But it's still alive. And it'll most likely stay that way no matter what. The one thing I do agree with is the idea of keeping the Matrix, and releasing the bundles. But I do not think that would help with crying. Or healing the relationship of the community with Bungie. Off the top of my head, the community will probably bash bungie for making things too easy to get.
