Preface: I'm no lore master, but will be using what I do know as to my understanding.
Our piece of the Light v Dark struggle is implied to be a fraction of the conflict between them as well as one small piece to a larger puzzle.
The Traveller is being hunted by the Darkness for stealing the Power it has, a story that mirrors that of Icarus who stole power from the gods.
We do not know for certain how or why the Traveller did what it did. We do know that it had visited others such as the Fallen, however they weren't called Fallen then. Their plight is one we might end up sharing: that of a race granted god-like powers and technology, only to be abandoned and left to calamity.
This knowledge is why certain Guardians and Lightbearers sought to learn more of this Darkness. Surely there is more to it. Surely it is not purely Evil in the same way one cannot call the Light of the Traveller purely Good.
I think we'll fight a much deeper relationship between the two. Time shall tell.

I know that this is a crazy theory and probably way off in terms of lore But what if the traveler and the triangle ships are being manipulated by a higher power. If Ulan’ tan theory is right why would the triangle ships attack the traveler knowing that it itself would be destroy. The sword logic/ the final shape is essentially a species or an individual being dependent on nothing but itself. The hive doesn’t fit this criteria because their existence is dictated by the worms But the triangle ships also wouldn’t fit this criteria because their existence is dependant in the traveler and vice versa. But there has to be a force that has achieved the final shape.

It's a most curious thought. Although you inadvertently made me realize the relationship between the two. The Light and the Dark are the SAME Power!! Think about it. It's cliche, but they could be two sides to the same coin. Same Power, different goals, methods, philosophies. Or they could be of the same origin, species, etc and literally be no different from one another. We could be caught in an intergalactic domestic dispute.

<Icarus didn't steal jack shit. His father made wings and Icarus died because he was stupid. Prometheus would be a better analogy for this situation but it isn't implied that the Traveler stole a damn thing. The Deep's philosophy would imply the opposite.>
-
That's right, always get icarus mixed up. But I'm 99% certain that the Traveller thieved its power, or at least some portion of it. Unless of course that's lore that's been redacted.
-
<There was never anything that said it. A theory a while ago suggested it but I don't believe anything actually said it.>
-
I may be projecting, then. This Warlock is still skeptical of the Traveller's intention... And thirsty for the greater Power one might have Wielding the Light and Mastering the Dark. I do however believe that the Darkeness is not as nefarious as it's made out to be. Along these lines, I also can't find myself believing that the majority of those races we're battling are directly fighting with or for the Darkness. The Vex: fairly certain that they'd attempt to harness and assimilate it similar to their attempts with the Light. The Fallen: they begrudge the Traveller, so there may be at least a House or two that may have sought a Darker path. The Cabal: perhaps, but far more likely they'd want to crush and conquer it. The Hive: likely those with the closest connection to the Darkness. I just wish there was more on it all. In a twisted irony, we're kept in the dark as to the true nature and source of the Light.
-
<The Fallen want the Traveler back, but the Scorn and Kell's Scourge don't. One prefers darkness and the other prefers tech. The Cabal want it, they're envious. The Vex are neutral. The Hive serve the Deep not knowing it will eventually kill them.>
-
Some of the Hive are aware of the trap, which is why Savathun wants out, I think Oryx was aware of it as well.
-
<Yet he refused to deviate.>
-
There's not much he can do to escape, Savathun is making headway after probably millions of years and her aspect being cunning helps with the whole "worm eating you alive from the inside" thing.
-
Where does it say the Traveler stole it's power? I never heard this detail anywhere prior to this

Well done! I have a small correction, concerning the fate of Humanity, the Eliksni, and other races. The fate of Humanity is already different from that of the other species the Traveler visited. The Traveler did not abandon Humanity when the Darkness attacked, like it did with the other species. And Humanity are the only ones who were given the Light to wield. Again, this happened after the Collapse. The Traveler staying marked a colossal change in the Traveler’s known history. This doesn’t change the point of your comment at all, but is worth mentioning because it’s one of the most important things in Destiny’s history.
