Toxic or not, trials kept players in the game. This game WILL die if trials is not brought back soon. Once Anthem and Division are out I will hardly play this game. If bungie wants players to play their game, trials is a big way to get pvp player back into it.

Editado por Dubufu: 2/18/2019 10:03:24 AMDidn't trails eventually make the playerbase dip? And it will die with or without trials. The game has been running long enough, and a highly competitive pvp mode in a game that is known for problems, harsh metas, and bad, unbalanced pvp in general will absolutely not revive this game in any meaningful sort of way.
-
Right, but it's undeniable that it's the last drop for a lot of dedicated pvp players. Comp isn't even close to what trials was.
-
Yup because trials is gone, I'm going to play Anthem. That makes a lot of sense
-
To act like Trials is what will kill this game is silly. Trials never had enough numbers to sustain Destiny and nothing PvP ever will unless they rebuild Crucible from the ground up. I doubt we will see Trials the rest of this year.
-
The game is already in a bad place. Further alienating the pvp community is going to obliterate the pvp player count. No pvp player base means a good chunk of the entire fanbase is gone. It's baffling that people don't understand that the pvp IS important for the livelihood of this game. I play pve because of the pvp. If the game didn't have compelling pvp, I would dip out as soon as I completed most of the pve content. With pvp, I stick around almost every day, and I can guarantee a sizable chunk of the player base is the same way. In fact, most pvpers are probably in that category.
-
I wouldn't disagree with anything you have said here other then your original comment about Destiny's fate resting in the hands of Trials.
-
Well obviously I don't think it's a trials or die situation, but something needs to be done on the pvp side of things or the game will be dead. Steady pve content will keep players that paid for the annual pass coming back, but outside of completing the probably lackluster content, the game is pretty stale. Trials is just the obvious way to revitalize the pvp side, and in turn, a good return of players. That, or comp needs a serious overhaul, or the rewards in pvp need to be more strenuous and rewarding.
-
Destiny may well die but that will have been caused by too much PvP focus and bleed over into the main game not lack of it.
-
What PvP focus? Where is the PvP end game then? Where are the new PvP maps? Where are the new PvP weapons? Where is the PvP enhanced armor? That's some extreme focus right there lemme tell ya.
-
Pvp focus? The only pvp focus we've gotten is a few weapons and some lazy sandbox tuning, and that's since Forsaken released, HALF A YEAR AGO. Literally everything else has been pve focused.
-
And yet we get all the the nerfs and the “Balance” making weapons very bland and boring. It does bleed over into how the whole game plays very much to its detriment. The sooner Bungie spins Destiny PvP off into a free to play Battle Royale game the better.
-
God the crying nerf argument is so bland. Get over it. There's plenty of fun ways to play pve. You don't need to be a god in pve to have fun, and the nerfs do little to change the actual pve gameplay. Pvp should get the balance changes, pve gets all the content. I'm fine with that.
-
Clearly you are not a PvE player, The nerf problem is real, e,.g breaking wormhusk has a definite effect in PvE play to “fix” something that wasn’t broken there and that’s just one of a hundred examples. I’m not likely to play it again unless I read in the forums that a lot of quality of life things have been fixed. I hope Bungie manages to turn it around but it’s not looking good for that at this point.
-
Crying about an exotic that gives you free health every 15/20 seconds is ridiculous, as is most crying about nerfs for pve. People that cry about nerfs affecting pve usually like their content to be easy, and don't really care to have a real challenge in their pve. A big reason I do pve content a few times and then don't really do it again until there's something g worthwhile to do. Pve is laughably easy, and stale to boot. To me destiny is a game that is to be played both pve and pvp. If pve is your thing, division and anthem are far better. Balance is made solely around pve there.
-
Actually division doesn’t play nearly as well, I personally have no interest in it. Theres nothing wrong with wanting PvE exotics or even legendarily to do things like boost your character’s health and abilities or for weapons and armor to feel different and powerful and worth chasing vs generically the same because if it gives any advantage the PvP nerfherders such as yourself come out in force. And yes I think you can expect Destiny will lose a lot of people to Anthem as it’s clear they are really pitching it at people who don’t like the direction Bungie went with Destiny. No need to ask what I was doing this morning I guess...
-
And I should note hearing trials is not coming back is one of those QOL improvements...
-
What a prophecy. The game WILL DIE without tryhard pvp completely infested with cheaters. I'll keep an eye on my watch.
-
A lot of people have left the game since it was removed. Whether thats the cause or just how shitty the grind and rng is in forsake being the cause is up for debate.
-
You know, I would've never thought pve players could be toxic, but here we are.
-
Same here. Thought it was the other way around. I wonder how PvE players would feel if they removed a raid to improve it but put it on hiatus for a long time
-
Precisely. Well, to be honest it's more like half of end game content, because trials was really the only end game for pvpers. Comp isn't really all that much of an endgame.
-
Exactly
