Petition for Smarter RNG
Bungie,
We put A LOT of hours into playing your game. No one plays this game to grind light.
it would be appreciated, very much, if those hours doing the same milestones we've been doing for the last 4 months weren't a complete waste of time obtaining powerful drops that we do not need.
Please value our time. Gaming is about having fun. Grinding light, getting weapons when we need armor, getting 4 chest pieces in a row when our helmet, legs and class item are still at 600 is not fun.

I mean that’s just part of the game. I’m fine with getting 4 chest pieces in a row because I can play as much as I want and get the boots I need. What’s not ok is when you have 3 chances a week at a glittering key and it NEVER $&@(“)”- DROPS!!!! Or 3 chances every 3 weeks for a stupid ship in shattered throne that NEVER $(@/&(@@- DROPS!!! That’s disrespecting players time. I’ll take grinding for a stupid pair of boots any day over this crap they pulled with the ships and the seals.

The light level gain is pretty much fine until you get within 50 of max, then it sucks that you can only do the raid with a full team which fully assumes you have at least 5 friends which play the game and harshly punishes you if you don't. The exotic system isn't good at all now either, but it's mostly alright, at least light level gains anyway.

RNG is fine in my opinion. I got tons of duplicates and +0s and i'm still 650 on all 3 characters

4 Respuestaslol! IMO the loot system is smart as hell and probably one aspect of the game that Bungie has perfected. The duplicate system was clearly designed on purpose to extend player grind time.

3 RespuestasWell again out of 9 powerful drops on 2nd character only 1 so far has been above my light. Basically log onto 2nd character transfer guns from 1st character over. Any armour piece will do. Then gun, gun, gun, gun, gun armour piece (my highest piece raise by 1), gun, gun and gun. WTF. No increase in light no exotics and a waste of about 4 hours. My power level increase to get to end game should not be so reliant on ducked rng. I systematically do each character carefully to increase light and it's -blam!-en pointless

On my warlock last week out of all my powerful gear drops 90% were weapons...mostly energy weapons. Why can’t it be like you pick either the weapon engram or a weapon engram? Like if I put in hours on game I should be thinking to myself that that was a very productive session.

Got a prime engram today which decrypted to chest at 615. Since, I've received 4 more chests and they are of course all below 615. TRASH!!!

3 RespuestasTell me about it. I stayed up an extra two hours last night to finish my clan, gambit and flashpoint milestones. Didn’t get a single drop that helped. All I needed were boots. I did every other milestone yesterday except for the 5 gambit matches. Didn’t get a single pair of boots. I said surely these last milestones might help. Nah brah. Nothing feels worse than getting sidearms or double drops of the same thing. Complete waste of time.

2 RespuestasEither smarter RNG weighted toward your lowest light level, or make 2-3 of the weekly challenges selectable so you can choose which piece you want as a mechanism to catch up anything that RNG left behind. The latter option would add a bit of strategy around when you wanted to use your guaranteed drops to push you forward and would give the player a bit of additional control over their level grind.

Would be great if there were a "knock out factor" or something along those lines. Nothing worse than getting a 617 energy weapon when you are 614 but have a 619 energy. Sad and continually dumb.

1 RespuestaYou’re actually asking for an end to rng, and I agree. How about getting a token for a light level increase that can be cashed in for a weapon or armor piece of our choice? To answer my own guestion; it would make the game better so Bungle won’t allow it. Rng is designed to make the grind longer.

2 RespuestasI just got my 17th exotic duplicate in a row on my Titan. Missing the one eyed mask, the only one I wanted to get, and I get 4 Kephris Horns and 2 Crimsons in the same week. This game is -blam!-ing shit.

pretty sure they either don't care in the least, or deliberately want it this way. since it's been exactly this way since all of the game evars all the way back to day 1 of D1 :(

Two of my clanmates already quit the game cause of this. They rip their asses off to get to 600 fast as possible. And now my friend do all milestones for prev week and get 4 kinetic, 5 legs, one class item and a lot of power weapons from prime engrams. And on the half way he already had new powerful Machine Gun, so all power weapon drops were useless. I don't know why Bungie think it's ok to do such a stupid thing. I'm ok with RNG for exotics, and even for some legendaries. But I spent 14 weeks grinded DC and still can't get sparrow or ship for Cursebreaker. And I stucked in my leveling process cause can't get any boots form powerful drops from last reset...

Some of these people are addicted to merely chasing a number, and clearly have copious amounts of time each day to do so.

Agree 100% just Today Lono touched on this very issue and made some great points. at 14:20 he nailed how I felt about Value Points. the increase in Power by 50 is NOT a value point, the hardcore players do it in days while casuals and those still behind it hurts and takes them weeks to get anywhere, leaving them with unfun experience and they quit.

I practically begged for them to value our time and was repeatedly ignored along with hundreds of others and then my posts became extremely toxic due to my favorite game losing that magic feeling and wasting hundreds of hours and still not getting certain exotics to drop. I’m trying not to be so hateful but watching Bungie employees continue to respond to their favorite streamers on Twitter and continually ignoring customers who have legit concerns is just ridiculous.
