What is your opinion of Black Armory so far?
-
No timers please. Cheap and lazy way to add challenge and drama. Way over used in destiny.
-
It’s good, at least to me. I didn’t expect much honestly. I expected maybe a new armor set and weapons, an endgame area we get immediately, and a new strike with no point. But what we got was better than that. We got two new armor sets (I think), a whole new weapon forging system (for specific weapons), a new activity comparable to PoE, EP, and BW, and a new raid. That’s a lot more than what I expected for about a $10-12 content drop from bungie. I mean, this was better than CoO and they charged that at $15-20 initially depending on how you got it. Looking forward to what happens in jokers wild.

$35 for 3 content drops, so that's basically $12 a drop. So far, for $12 I've got a new raid and a new Blind Well activity with 4 exotics and a new set of guns and armour to hunt, as well as some new triumphs. Seems reasonable to me. Only thing I'd suggest is that next time we increase power level at the season reset, that way the issue with the first forge being too hard won't occur and we can actually engage in the content we paid for.

Where's the choice of "piss poor implentation" ?

I have it but haven't played yet.

3 RespuestasWheres the "its good, but there are deffinetly improvements to be made" option?

8 RespuestasOpinions are skewed. The BA content is good however... Most people cant even access it right now due to power gating. This isnt a quality concern, its one of a design flaw. We also cant make a proper judgment because three quarters of the BA content isnt even available yet.

I Love it, but it definitely needs work. Personally I love grinding out missions and misc activities, as dull as it seems, it doesn’t bug me. What I would change though, maybe a wee bit of story. I saw a post elsewhere with this idea, i forget whose it was. There should have been a couple missions with powerful rewards that both helped players get ready for the forge and gave a story background to BA

1 RespuestaEditado por Grancop: 12/7/2018 2:59:57 PMThe Forge was challenging and fun and beating it felt great, just a little disappointing when you realize the difficulty is completely artificial and that it will be a cakewalk once you hit 620.

3 RespuestasFinally finished it last night. I was at 609 and the randoms I was with were in the low teens. We finished with 2 seconds on the clock. After equipping the resulting loot, I'm now at 611. For those who haven't completed it yet......be prepared for some extensive forge grinding. All of Ada's quests and daily/weekly bounties are based on running the forge - over and over and over. I hope the new raid is more fun. Were it not for the timer or if forge allowed more players (like EP or Blind Well) it would be more fun. Maybe as power levels increase it won't be as bad - but for now it is tedious. My loadout from last night - Chaos Reach Warlock with GeoMag boots, Smuggler's Word sidearm full auto masterworked, Loaded Question, ThunderLord.

O honestly can’t give it a valid vote until I’m strong enough to complete the activity
-
Too early to tell. We don't even have 3/4 of the content because of time gating. Though that in itself is a review to some. It'll probably get better when more of the content is trickled through every week, similar to the Dreaming City narrative.

5 RespuestasAdd a "Difficult to tell this early" and I'll vote.

1 RespuestaEditado por CannyJack: 12/6/2018 6:44:58 PMRight now, Black Armory might be about 1.5 minutes of fun jam-packed into 5-10 hours of playing Season 4 activities. I've never seen Bungie flub a first impression so badly. I have problems even using the word "content" in regard to this...whatever it is. Update, I guess. What we have now is a floating cone you throw balls at, and a new vendor. It definitely needs work.

Gotta wait til i’ve played the raid before i even vote lol

Less timegate, more stuff. Where are the strikes?
-
1 RespuestaI'm reserving judgment for when we get to see more stuff. I did just get totally crushed my first time in the forge though. Hopefully they will up the prime engram drop rate so we can have a chance to win by next week or so. Having said that, I kind of like the new "living world" approach. I think in the long run it will probably provide more return on time investment than the old approach.

Editado por Ghodzilla: 12/6/2018 7:37:43 AMIt was too soon for a power increase. Those of us who maxed out our Guardians never really had any time to enjoy it. Now, in a matters of a few weeks, we are back to the same old milestones grind, and our guardians are getting their asses kicked again. Black Armory would be more fun at 600 with well-thought game play mechanics. Under powered players with a short timer to complete is lazy game design.

1 RespuestaI think it will be better once everyone gets up to the right light level

4 RespuestasI don't hate it. It might be fun. I can't tell yet because I can't access the forge and will probably not be able to do the new raid for weeks. What I can say is that I don't like the way they have gated the first forge access behind days/weeks of grinding old content. The first one should have been higher than 600, but still do-able for those who had maxed out pre BA power levels (maybe 610-615?). There are 4 forges and they should be requiring higher power levels for each one in turn - thus incentivizing people to keep increasing their power levels. The way it dropped, the power levels gated people from the only new activity that dropped day 1. That was not right and needs some changes. Cozmo said there would be some discussion about this in this week's TWAB. We'll just have to wait and see.
-
2 RespuestasNot taking light requirements into consideration the forge is a bland experience. No new mechanics, no engaging content, just throwing balls at stuff. Hopefully the raid makes up for it.
-
Wouldn't know as I'm playing old content to reach the new... Seasons three months long though so.. This would be okay if there was anything new at all to play right now. Crucible maps, strike. Maybe a patrol area to explore.
-
Can’t answer when you can’t play it yet. Which is the issue. Most people won’t touch it until at least next week, probably longer for many. It’s also only one small, mostly unplayable activity that’s even available right now.
-
I like it. Kinda another about the grind to 510, but I like it nonetheless
-
Bungie could have set the base Forge to 600 with difficulty settings for 610, 620, etc, like they do with strikes. The loot would change with the difficulty, but it would be doable at launch. This would have allowed most players (at least, those close enough to 600) to get into it right away, but continue to drop higher and higher gear as you go up in difficulty, satisfying those high-power players who want end-game content.
