Translation: “Things that are different make me uncomfortable and I can’t relate to it so I will attempt to villainize them.” The only damage being done is from those that are attempting to suppress people just trying to be themselves or comfortable in their own skin.

You obviously do care enough to make a post. There’s no “agenda” aside from normalizing things that have been looked down upon for no reason or for bad reasons in the past. It always amuses me when it’s referred to as an agenda in a way that makes it sound like some sinister motive of a secret society or something. It’s absurd.

  • I do care about the damage created by the movement. I don't care if someone is gay and such. And if you don't see an agenda then that's you choosing not to see it. Even they themselves have admitted that they have an agenda.

  • It’s not some nefarious infiltration of society. It’s only “an agenda” in the same way that race related civil rights were. There’s no damage being caused and there’s literally no good reason to be against it.

  • Advocating for kids to transition at early age is very damaging.

  • There is a point in which it’s too early, but it won’t be the same with everyone. Maturity levels vary greatly. The instances in which it’s too early are extremely rare. Certainly not enough to suggest negating it entirely.

  • Children cannot consent to or understand the changes that they would be undergoing via transition. Just like how they cannot consent to sex, buying a house, etc. Their brain is not even close to being fully developed and they do not understand the consequences that transitioning causes. Even fully grown adults cannot completely handle transitioning as transgender suicide rates are absurdly high and they have to go through constant painful surgeries and different forms of treatment because their body is trying to heal the damage done to itself.

If the negative stigma surrounding it wasn’t as prevalent, there would be less mental health issues. The suicide rate is no different than those that who’s transition is suppressed. The way that is achieved would be through acceptance and education of it. Not suppressing it and having people wait longer than necessary. Masculinity and femininity are NOT specific values that are exclusive to any arrangement of biology. These are things that kids can recognize about themselves through observation at a relatively early age. It’s not something that should be made lightly, but it ultimately is their body and we’re not talking about harmful substances here. The change they wish for is a positive thing in that they just want to feel more comfortable in their own skin.

  • These ARE harmful substances. They're called hormone blockers because they block natural biological hormones to stop kids from going through puberty, which can lead to long term issues with reproduction and affect them mentally as they'll be unable to mature. And just because it's their body doesn't mean that we should let them do whatever they want with it. Would you be ok with children smoking weed or shooting up heroine just because it's their body? If the answer is no, then how come you're completely fine with administering them drugs that have equally negative effects? And children do not realize exactly who they truly are at an early age. Your personality sets in at around age 13 but even that can change and many teenagers will experience a plethora of physical and mental changes that start to slow down around 25.

Except that most transgender people when asked how early they knew, say they knew at that age. Some even earlier. It’s not harmful if it gets them to where they want to be.

  • Who are these people that say that and what kind of environment did they grow up in?

  • When asked, most transgender people, just like gay people, say they knew early on that they were “different.” The problem is that old negative stigmas exist for various(usually religious) reasons that cause them to not exactly understand it, as well as make them afraid to ask adults about it. Mine, yours, or anyone else’s inability to relate to their situation does NOT negate the validity of it.
