Petition to make Telesto a heavy weapon
Do you know what’s worse than a shotgun warrior? A telesto warrior.
In my opinion using telesto is rock bottom, it’s a new low. I recently ran into a stacked group all running telesto in competitive. Lucky as I am, my teammates and I where good enough to win, but it was a close match.
So Bungie, please change Telesto to the heavy slot, it is way to op to have as a secondary weapon.
Edit: Alright then, changing Telesto to heavy might not be the right solution (mostly because it would screw over PvE and gambit) But atlest nerf the range and projectile damage. Lower the timer projectiles last as well, it is not fun trying to conquer zones in control when there’s like 10 projectiles on the floor.

How about just ban it from competitive? No one should be able to telesto their way to a Luna or Mountaintop.

A lot of the Telesto defenders rationalize it by arguing that it is the only thing that can combat the TTK of lunas/NF. This couldn't be more false and just an invalid argument. Telesto has a charge time of 37 - hit one person anywhere on the body and they're dead. Lunas Howl - Precision Hand Cannon 180 RPM - 78 Impact 57 Crit - 39 Body 1.00s Optimal TtK (2C2B or 3C1B) 1.67s Base TtK (6B) - 6 Resilience 1.33s Average TtK (1C4B or 5B) *there are a ton of guns across all types that can match or beat these stats. You have to have a reasonable amount of gun skill to hit all crit shots with any hand cannon. To hit someone with a Telesto you need to be able to point and shoot at a moving object in front of you. So what these defenders are really saying is "give me a gun that takes no skill to use so I can beat good players without trying". Lunas Howl's quest steps are specifically designed to train you to get better with hand cannons and play at a higher skill level.

Ok..................to do that most if not all fusions would follow as well as shotties and eventually snipers so we would be back at D2 vanilla...........no one wants to be back at D2 vanilla.

If we lost players that majority buy this game for PVE...we will lost the potential new PVP players. So Just Ban any Exotic and Raid weapons from PVP. There is no make sense to have OP Gun in regular PVP. Anyway...if it OP...why don't you use it against your opponent?

Ha look at the down votes :D Thank goodness people have some sense around here. We all know if you take away Telesto then we have nothing to combat the stupid TTK of Lunas and shot guns so leave it alone.

No because Luna's. If you put Telesto in the power slot then you can place Luna's there right along side it with its stupid TTK.

All it needs is that spread needs to be wider past 20m, I’m fine with it killing people easily, it is exotic, but it’s range of use is too wide. I could see maybe reducing explosion damage and increasing impact damage, so that you have to hit more bolts over exploding on the floor, but I think that would change the gun too much and take away actual playmaking with it.

24 RespuestasTelesto is blatantly overpowered and anyone who disagrees is actually awful. It’s easy to use and allows trashcans (like them) to get free kills. There is no counter and there is nothing skillful about it. I’d like someone with similar stats to mine across all seasons tell me that it’s balanced.

Nerfs make grinding for guns pointless. Nerfs make practicing with a gun pointless. Don't ask for nerfs. Ask for counters.

3 RespuestasSo let me get this straight . you went up against a 4 stack of telestos and you won said match even though you are admittedly trash at pvp. which ultimatly makes it 3 against a 4 stack of telestos. yet you got the W ? I just would like to personaly thank you as you have literally helped the PVE side of this argument. Now i dont speak for everyone here but I am pretty sure we can rest our case on that note.

Also you know you can shoot those projectiles on the ground to blow them up? But your answer to the people that run a counter build to close quarters shotguns is to remove it to a different slot so that it can't be used? I guess we should all be shot gun apes?

Lol I love how the folks that can't function without the Telesto always lump them in with shotguns for their argument. I rarely use either, but atleast with a shotty you have to get close to the person. Telesto is one shot from across the map. I don't mind getting killed by a shotty. But man it makes you want to turn the game off when you are constantly being killed by scrubs with Telesto that have no skill and can't play with anything else. I am down for making it a heavy.
