The Traveler’s Awakening and Why Those Evil Space Pyramids Are Taking So Long

This has bothered since the game came out. We first see those evil space pyramids in the Vision From The Traveler we receive after losing our light, and don’t see them again until the post credits scene where they are touched by the Traveler’s “Light.” Well where are they? It’s been 2 years right? Well when the Traveler wakes up we see it send out a shockwave in all directions. We see it hit every planet in our system and then makes its way all the way out into intergalactic space where the totally-not Borg are right? Well that shockwave didn’t appear to be moving at the speed of light. We could interpret its movement after all. But even if it WAS traveling at the speed of light, that shockwave would take a LONG time to reach intergalactic space. Like MILLIONS of years. Space is big dawg. So by the time that shockwave reaches the evil space triangles there’s a more than good chance humanity is already extinct. And even if we weren’t, it’s gonna take those Pyramids a long damn time to even realize the Traveler awoke. They may be able to get to us from intergalactic space hella fast, but since they’re “awaking, and ominous synchronized direction change accompanied by synth music” seems to have been triggered by that shockwave, don’t hold your breath on them getting here. It’ll take them at least half the time it takes to load a menu.
