21 RespuestasA community temper-tantrum. Nothing more. Nothing less. The Diablo community wants "Diablo 4"...and are mad that its not ready yet, and that Blizzard is putting out a mobile version of the game first. Which is frankly a very good business decision. Blizzard is a lot like Rockstar when it comes to game development. They are self-published, so they take their time and make sure a game has been done RIGHT before they release it....and only make sequels when the time and technology is right. So each game is a significantly different experience from the previous one. IOW, it was TEN YEARS between the final expansion of Diablo II and when Diablo 3 first released. Likewise it has been five years since Reaper of Souls. This is just the price you pay for being a fan of Blizzard gamers. But the benefit is that you don't get games coming out that are buggy, poorly-quality tested MESSES like you often get from Ubisoft, Actiivsion, and other publishers that force developers to rush games to market. Diablo 4 hasn't been officially announced, but knowing Blizzard, its in development....and we need to have the patience to wait until its ready. ...and we're hearing from those people who don't have that patience.

Blizzard underestimated how loud raging nerds are.

1 RespuestaEven I've got to admit that it's one of the worst PR disasters since Battlefront 2 last year. Blizzard really f--ked this up. What people seem to forget is that BlizzCon is primarily made up of the hardcore fan base. These people paid to be at this event. To have your closing announcement be a Diablo mobile game (mostly developed by a third party and after months and months of rumours) I'd be pretty pissed too. Watching the whole thing back you can just see when the audience changes from excited to downright furious. To then say 'Don't you have phones?' really added fuel to the fire. Utterly tone-deaf and clueless as to what the fan base wanted. I'm not the biggest fan of Diablo but even I see this as a slap to the face of the actual fan base who've been waiting years for something. There's no way Blizzard thought this wasn't going to get a very negative reaction.

33 RespuestasI dont understand why everyone has such a big issue with Blizzard expanding to another platform when things are fine and well for them. Im sorry but this incident is a prime example of entitlement and I don't toss that around lightly at all. Blizzard is a company, by expanding to mobile they're going to make more money. This was made for mobile gamers, giving them a way to experience one of the greatest games ever in some shape or form with the device in their pocket. Also they said they had SEVERAL projects in store. Guess what that means? Diablo Immortal isn't the only thing they're working on. All in all the Blizzard community has just made themselves look entitled and incredibly selfish and ignorant. Such a shame.

3 RespuestasPeople have been wanting a new game in the series and then they make a mobile game. It's like if Bethesda ended E3 with Elder Scrolls: Blades instead of Starfield and ES6. People wouldn't be as angry if it wasn't supposed to be the big thing shown at the end of the conference.

Someone else said it best with: "It's like taking your car in to buy new tires only to have them sell you bicycle tires instead. When you complain they respond with: Do You Not Have A Bicycle?"

1 RespuestaRather than presenting it as a side thing while Diablo 4 is in the works they tried to present it as the next big thing... to an audience of mainly PC gamers... Not super sure on why bother with a mobile game when I'd assume mobile gamers likely won't care for a title that's always been known as a grindy experience, and mobile games are usually... not that. That could be remedied via microtransactions or just making the game less of a grind. Hopefully the latter. If so then releasing a mobile game would make sense, and might work out well. While I don't see an issue in just releasing a mobile game, they should have done what Bethesda has done with Fallout shelter, which is saying "hey we're working on cool stuff in the mean time have this mobile game." There are complaints of it being a "cash grab" but microtransactions are basically how mobile games make any money, and many people it'll be pay to win. I've encountered mobile game with microtransactions that made microtransactions really feel optional, and the games were very much enjoyable without them, and I'm pretty sure it'd have been unnecessary to use them because I don't feel lacking without them at all, and probably would have felt like I'm wasting money if I bought them. However activision is the one pulling the strings, which does raise concerns, which is fair. There also seem to be peopls pointing out that it's very similar looking to a cheap Chinese mobile gameb, thus pointing out a lack of creativity for the project. I don't know how true this is so I won't say much. Also... Blizzard has not been very accepting of the backlash. They reuploaded their video multiple times, deleted comments, reset the likes/dislikes, and uh... "Do you guys not have phones?" In conclusion... I think there's fault with Blizzard for the presentation and reception, and some overreaction from the fanbase is a result. Let's all hope for the best and judge the game once it releases.

5 RespuestasWhat, don’t you have a phone?

12 RespuestasA bunch of people overreacting because they didn't get Diablo 4. I want it too but God damn this shit is being blown way out of proportion.

3 RespuestasBlizzard announced a mobile game instead of Diablo 4 like people were expecting. So instead of just being disappointed and saying “this isn’t for me” some fans have pitched a fit and brought out the torches and pitchforks. However closing their big once a year keynote where they announce major releases on a mobile game was really badly thought out as well. Not enough for the temper tantrums some people are throwing but poor planning nonetheless.

10 RespuestasEditado por Swiftlock: 11/5/2018 5:14:31 PMAll Blizzard had to do was pull a Bethesda and show a vague logo for Diablo 4 at the very end of the show. They should take notes from Todd Howard. ... Unless there is no Diablo 4 in the works, in which case the disappointment is even more justified.

8 RespuestasI'm confused Diablo 4 is still in the works right? If so I hope they make a ton of money off this mobile thing I won't play it but doesn't bother me

Clearly they don't understand their own fans. These are gamers who spend most of their gaming time on PC or console. Making the reveal of a mobile game the high point of the Diablo panel at Blizzcon was very unfortunate. They were supposed to tease Diablo 4 but that idea got cancelled: https://www.google.com/amp/s/kotaku.com/sources-blizzard-pulled-diablo-4-announcement-from-bli-1830232246/amp More than likely they were going to tease D4 and announce the mobile game as something to try in the meantime. Kind of like what Bethesda did. Their mobile game came out before Fallout 4. Nobody pitched a fit over it. Now imagine if Bethesda kept hinting at a big announcement at E3 and it turned out to be nothing but the Fallout Shelter mobile game. You'd have pretty much the same reaction. When the announcement of D4 was cancelled they found themselves in a bad situation. They didn't handle the audience reaction well either.

1 RespuestaBlizzard announces in front of a crowd of PC players who want Diablo 4, that they're releasing a mobile Diablo reskin

Diablo got bent down and said just take it. As the kids watched.

4 RespuestasIt's not much a surprise considering NetEase gave them a huge sum of cash and most likely where they would have taken their ideas. In my honest opinion I believe it's mostly targeted for the Chinese audiences as they are very big on mobile gaming.
-
PC players thought they were getting Diablo 4, instead they got a mobile game. You do the math.
-
The only 4th game I want from Blizzard is Warcraft 4. Diablo 4 won't be out for another decade anyways going by Blizzard release time.
-
Oh, man. They are turning into a mobile game. LMAO!!! I was shocked. Who could possibly think this is a good direction? I HATE mobile games. Nothing but micro transaction cash machines with poor controls. No thanks.
