Not at all. The OP is saying that Bungie is not being honest with their players or making the changes they promise in good faith. Nothing spoiled about that.

They didn’t say you’ll never receive a duplicate again. They just lowered the chance of getting duplicates. At the beginning of the week I got Contraverse Hold, it’s still RNG...his luck just sucks. I’ve received 4 ace of spades from world drop exotics before the patch but I didn’t make a single post about it. Everyone wants everything In one week so they can post in the forums saying “I’m done, this game is boring and there’s nothing to do.”

Yes we all read the TWAB and know what they said. 6 dupes in a week means the dupe protection isn’t helping. If they changed the weighting by 0.5% then they aren’t actually helping while still being “honest” in the update because they technically made a change. Also you can’t tell me what the intentions of all forum posters are, get a grip. A lot of people want the new exotics to be able to play with them while they are relevant. They also do not want to be stomped by them in competitive game modes because you don’t have it.

One person isnt the gold standard though. He is simply an unlucky outlier while the majority are getting the right results.

This isn’t the only post like this since Tuesday with this problem though. I understand the concept of outliers but it does appear as if what they changed wasn’t enough to help the players that were already frustrated. I can understand why people like the OP are even more frustrated.

It has not even been a week since the patch and most of the complaints were made within less than 48 hours. There are also really very few complaint threads and most of them even admit that they have in fact gotten at least 1 new exotic either at the time of posting or within the next few days. From what I can tell, the number of comments made by others saying they've gotten new exotics has outweighed the complaints.

Yes. If duplicate exotics are still an issue for people they should tell Bungie and Bungie should make further changes. Someone got 6 exotic drops and all are dupes. Even as an outlier that shouldn’t be able to happen if Bungie [i]really[/i] committed to improving the player rewards experience. The worst part is that a placebo change (of less than 10% weighting for example ) could allow them to be honest with the community that they “improved it” while continuing to use RNG to milk hours of playtime from their customers. Instead of trying to defend Bungie no matter the criticism maybe you should think about the experience of someone who has played Forsaken dedicatedly like the OP, has not been rewarded with the game warping Forsaken Exotics that others were “lucky” enough to get, and then post update (which was the promised improvement) gets 6 more dupes. That sucks.

That is not a reasonable response. They were very clear that they've only increased the CHANCE of getting a new exotic and that people WILL still get duplicates. So even if a few get only duplicates, it's still only a handful and it's still FAR too soon to assume something is wrong and needs to be changed immediately. For the majority it appears to be working as intended, so while outliers should be listened to IN CASE things aren't working as intended over time, that doesn't mean it's reasonable to make any rapid changes until it's actually determined to not be working. You'd have a point if they promised no duplicates at all, but that's not what was promised. This is the problem with people who want instant gratification.[/quote] The problem is that the player reward team removed the loot from this looter shooter and replaced it with an algorithm to drive longer play patterns. The vast majority of people complaining about exotic drop rate, quest exotics in the loot pool, and duplicate exotics aren’t asking for Instant gratification. They put in their time with the expansion. It’s important to be able to obtain the new cycle of exotics while they are relevant (before they are nerfed/relaxes by better new exotics) and before the next expansion with new exotics is released. Players like you and me who have also played almost every single day since Forsaken released don’t feel rewarded for that time investment (and of course the$$). If you do that’s great for you but fixing dupe protection to actually be relevant now is important. If you will review the posts you will see it’s actually you who is dismissing my opinion and the OPs opinions. We all have valid points and experiences right?

How is that not a reasonable response? Outliers, which you admit are outliers, do not decisions for everyone else make. You listen to the problems BEFORE jumping to conclusions that something is wrong. So far, we are nowhere near long enough past the patch to determine a few people not getting new exotics indicates a real problem when the majority ARE getting new exotics as intended. The intention of the update was not to make sure EVERYBODY got new exotics RIGHT AWAY. For all you or OP know, he could get 6 all new non-dupe exotics tomorrow... Nobody should be swimming in new exotics already, so OP complaining about this only days after the patch is not really putting in enough time to be pulling out pitch forks. Also, the goal and promise was never duplicate [i]protection[/i], it was clearly and always duplicate [i]reduction[/i]. If the majority are getting less duplicates and IN TIME so is OP, then there is nothing wrong, but you can't determine things are wrong without giving it a decent amount of time for the data to be revealed.

By any means, if you get 6 exotics to drop in one week, and you’re salty about a duplicate that’s on the user, not the game. RNG is an unforgivable b*tch we all know this already. And to be fair dude was probably exaggerating the 6 drops and probably only got two duplicate armor pieces, ran to the forum like a cry baby when bungie already said that armor pieces are more prominent to drop duplicates due to random rolls. Now if you were to get a year 1 weapon duplicate again that’s just shitty RNG on your part.
