He actually said that the victims denial of Christ was the reason they were going to Hell.

Well, if you believe in Christianity. this is correct. So, I don't find that shocking in the slightest. Conviction is a tricky business. what is something you feel convicted about?

Even if it's what you believe that would NOT be the time and place to say something like that. Pence is VP of ALL Americans, not just Christian Americans.

Editado por SuperJohnJohn: 11/1/2018 4:35:19 AMactually, it happens at christian churches across the globe almost every day, because they believe in jesus. so, welcome to how they feel. except the people who bomb, burn, shoot, and otherwise destroy christians are lauded as heros in their countries.

Feel free to cite where a leader made such comments towards Christian's who were killed.......
-
here is one example of state-condoned violence against Christians.
When the Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF) was in power, a peaceful protest by Christians in October 2011 was attacked by security forces, leaving 28 dead and hundreds injured. Footage showed army vehicles crushing protesters and soldiers firing discriminately at them. State television aired reports calling on “noble Egyptians” to come and support the army and attack protesters.
https://fanack.com/religions/the-oppressed-coptic-christian-community/ for more examples look into the persecution of Christians in China, Iraq, Afganistan, Iran, Yemen, North Korea. etc. etc.

So they are comparable to Pence and the US in your mind?
-
Woah there, don’t lump me in with you. I’m a Christian and I don’t think they’ll go to hell for believing in their own religion.
-
Woah there, don’t lump me in with you. I’m a Christian and I don’t think they’ll go to hell for believing in their own religion.
Other Christians,.please take note. The reason a lot of people have problems with Christians is because they behave the exact opposite of this. It's ok to have your beliefs but you don't have to be a dick about it. And even if you don't feel the same way as this poster have some tact and -blam!-ing respect. There is a time and place for everything and that was not the proper venue for Pence to voice that belief.
-
Yeah, in my church tolerance of other religions is a big deal. Living by the golden rule. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
-
he asked why, i explained. it is a matter of significance. would i have done what pence did. no. But OP seemed to lack an understanding as too why the VP did as so.
-
that's why i said most, not all. but i question you on when jesus said that no one gets to the father except through me. or i am the way, the truth, and the life. doesn't that make him the only way to heaven?
-
I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My faith has a different view of Heaven. It’s a long story.
-
so you are a mormon. there is a difference.
-
Yes, Mormon is the commonly used term. We prefer people use the true name of the church. If needs be, the restored church is an acceptable term.

Too late, I already saw it. There’s no need to resort to statements like that.

hence the nvm

Alright, my bad.

I’m convicted about not telling people that shooting victims are going to Hell because at their memorial.
-
I’m convicted about not telling people that shooting victims are going to Hell because at their memorial.
I'm curious.....as you typed that out did it seem like an obvious statement? And yet here you are having to actually say it. TFW.....
-
It would seem that way. But here we are.
-
People of the Christian conviction see the salvation of souls as a matter of utmost importance, above not offending people. So some of them would find your position offensive because you are prioritizing a temporary, and frivolous notion of "sensitivity" above the eternal nature of a soul.

Maybe you should find a Christian that doesn’t have that conviction for a memorial
-
well, maybe you should find an atheist instead
