IMO, Redrix Broadsword is not worth the grind. In this meta, with its current stats, it’s worthless in PvP. It’s outclassed by almost everything.
When you get desperado to perk, it’s great. But... it’s a challenge dealing with the base gun. The deaths you suffer trying to proc desperado offset any kills you earn with the perk active.
It’s a MONSTER in PvE and in my opinion should be a PvE Quest. It’s not for PvP.
Definitely not worth the investment of time.
Edit: For those of you saying “Git Gud” pub stomping in Quick Play doesn’t count. You take this gun into the higher levels of comp and you’ll be outclassed by everything, IMO. Granted, I can’t say that I’m good with any weapon, but I’m for sure not competing with Redrix in comp.

I actually prefer to use it over bygones and I have kill clip and outlaw. The reward for hitting your crits is greater and you get multi kills with it in comp much easier than the bygones due to desperado. I also play a longer game in comp where I keep my distance between shotgunners and don't rush much but with my style of play it's amazing. Go to gun if it's 1v3.

7 RespuestasBreaks my heart bc, I set out to grind for it and I’m almost done😢
-
Yep its pretty bad honestly

2 RespuestasIt's good in rumble when you get desperado to proc. Just seems like desperado is bugged. Never procs when it should
-
I just posted the same thing cuz i got the redrix today and it's good but not the best in the current cluter-blam!- shutgun shoulder charge hand supernova 340 rpms need a buff to 22 / 35 just like the high impact autos
-
Its got great perks offset with terrible target acquisition and worse handling. Bygonnes destroys it!

Editado por NotJaysDay: 10/30/2018 5:14:50 PMI agree that the gun is not worth the heavy grind. I wondered why I almost never see anybody using it, and this should have been a red flag to me in my grind, but I kept going. I finally got mine, and then wondered why I put all that time and effort in, as my Bygones is far better. My Bygones (Rampage, Outlaw, Ricochet Rounds, Hammer Forged, Stability masterwork) can kill from greater distance, the scope/sight is better, and it has a much larger magazine. To me, the only mod option for Broadsword is Backup Mag, as its base mag (I think 27 rounds?) is just way too small. My Bygones is 39 base and 48 with Backup Mag. Also, once you activate Outlaw, and then reload to activate Desperado, it seems that Desperado is timed (yet, you don't see a timer on the screen). You have to fire those rounds out within a few seconds or you lose the benefit. I think that Broadsword should easily rise above other pulse rifles. Unfortunately, while it has great potential to be completely awesome, its negatives just knock it down too much. For this gun to be worth the grind, I think it needs some significant improvement. For one, Desperado needs to apply to the entire magazine, and not time out in a few seconds. Next, the magazine needs to be larger -- maybe 36 rounds. Finally, it would be nice to have another sight option, as the current sight blocks your view too much. To me it seems that, if you're gonna grind for either the Redrix's Broadsword or the Luna's Howl, the Howl is the hands-down choice. That thing is nearly unstoppable in the hands of someone that can hit headshots. Suck it up and go for that sucker instead.

5 RespuestasI’ve completed every step except the 20 crucible bounties thing. That step is nothing more than a “Tack-on-four-more-days-to-your-wait-after-grinding-a-godawful-amount-of-crucible” step. Oddly enough I grinded for this gun for PvE.....and because I think it’s “pretty”.

2 RespuestasMy TTK spreadsheet says that it beats Luna/NF by 0.2s with Desperado. Your point?
-
Rewards a skilled hand. Less easier to use than bygones. But can 2 tap, which I love. Preference man. I destroy with it.

1 RespuestaEditado por IcyHorizons: 10/29/2018 4:50:13 AMOf course this is only your opinion and your opinion is quite reasonable. However IN MY OPINION, Redrix's is totally worth it. Why? You may ask? Well for starters, Redrix's has a rewarding experience when you actually manage to get Desperado to proc, matched with outlaw, your TTK significantly can improve based upon a faster reload speed and a higher RPM. Yes the weapon has a terrible TTK without getting Desperado proced, but if you give it some practice time you can actually play with a pretty good overall weapon. It's a higher impact frame weapon which gives it that higher base damage but you can probably gun down a Bygones user or a Shotgun warrior just by simply landing your headshots and knowing that in order to get that maximum damage output you need to reload, which is why outlaw is a trait on the gun. I haven't gotten one yet, nor have I gotten Claymore, but just from watching videos of it shredding people from a closer or longer range engagement is satisfying to say the least. I hope that what I have said will change your mind and give Redrix's Broadsword another go.

Editado por superuber2011: 10/28/2018 3:29:22 AMI was almost close to finishing the introduction quest where you had to get so many pulse rifle final blows in the crucible and I googled it into see how many steps where next. Expecting the normal four maybe five... but when I saw them all, and the level of grid for each one I said -blam!- that shit and abandoned it all together.
-
Yeah I didn’t even bother with Mods for PvP, I threw Major Spec on it and am enjoying melting through Revenant Knights like they’re Thrall. When Pulse Rifles inevitably fall out of meta it’ll probably be the best of them all, but since every pulse rifle is a Guardian-melter in PvP right now it can’t hold itself against a Bygones or Inaugural Address
-
7 RespuestasDisagree. If you are good it’s great.
-
I’d rather crush my balls in a vice than get 5 resets in a season with the state of match-making at present. Match-making right now only favours elitists. I used to enjoy crucible, but now it’s a nightmare for average players like me.
-
True, so true
-
1 Respuestaif it was a 390 pulse in the same class as bygones it would be possibly too OP. I don't like it in pvp since it's so situational. I find it difficult to find anyone once I proc the perk. When it does it's insane but it's inconsistent. I just got it for a collection anyways
-
Not bad, just too much situational. My kill clip/head seeker Bygones does better, my kill clip/outlaw Go figure is more consistent
-
6 RespuestasAgreed, once I finally had the gun and tried it, I was disappointed. Kill clip does the job just as good as this weapon if not better. At base damage the pulse rifle is really bad especially if you miss only 1 bullet.
-
1 RespuestaBygone and Go figure is way better with kill clip, outlaw. Period. Redrix is just not as good as it was. Even with Desperado active.
-
It might be just not your gun type.
-
Editado por Loot: 10/27/2018 8:26:23 AM... the Redrix is amazing! It's pretty good without the perk and a frickin God with it...
not included in the DLC
-
1 RespuestaPvp is not worth it
-
1 RespuestaI’ll admit it gets some getting used to but once u figure it out u become unstoppable. I rock Redrix in my kinetic slot and Luna in my energy
-
Completely disagree. The gun is a monster in both PvE and pvp. You get an entire magazine of desperado when you activate it at which point you can melt 2 or 3 guardians and activate it again. You know what it does in PvE. It's easier to use in PvE but it's my pulse of choice in PvP.

Editado por Tufcat: 10/27/2018 4:24:14 AMChange your topic to Luna's Howl and it'll be better. The Broadsword grind is not difficult just tedious. If you have time you can get before the next season. No wins required. As long as you're an average player you meet all the requirements. And it's just an accomplishment. Saying "yes I did this." There's a lot of weapons that just eh but are locked behind a time investment
