I'm sorry you feel that way, but this tends to be what happens with Destiny, as well as other games, after they have been out for a while. It occurred in D1 a couple of times, and it has now occurred in D2. You may not see it that way, but expansions are a little different than DLCs, whereas they affect the game on a whole, not just in bits and pieces of separate code. Sometimes it gets to a point where it just is necessary to include past product n a current product. As noted, you would have been paying the same price for Forsaken irregardless. If you had the season pass then you also received CoO and Warmind at a discounted price, compared to others that paid full price for each expansion after-the-fact. From the last TWAB
Effective October 16, the purchase of Destiny 2: Forsaken will include the two expansions included in the Destiny 2 Expansion Pass. Every player of Destiny 2 who has yet to touch down on the Tangled Shore will need only the Forsaken upgrade. Our hope is that this will eliminate some of the questions that confront a player as they try to join our party.
There's more in that TWAB if you care to review it: https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/47321 If you just purchased the first 2 expansions last week, you *might* be able to talk to PSN to see if they will refund them, explaining about the new bundling that started today; but that's totally at PSN's discretion. That's just marketing, and they are not the first (nor last) to do it. You also could have waited until next fall when it will likely have everything for sale for $20 after they announce the 3rd installment - but if you want to play early - or first - you pay for that privilege, usually in varying degrees.

 • I understand how these things work and paying more to play sooner and everything. Funny thing is I did wait to buy any expansions because I wasn't happy with a lot of things about vanilla D2. But that doesn't change the fact that Bungie specifically said that buying CoO & Warmind would be required for Forsaken and future expansions. This is the reason I purchased them in the 1st place. But now they are included and aren't required purchases with no option to buy Forsaken on it's own. So I'm sorry but this is a problem and can't be justified by explaining how sales work or Destiny expansions work. It was deceitful and done to take advantage of the consumer.

 • Smh. There is no problem. You can keep saying they're is a problem, but you are wrong. Buy Forsaken or don't. Forsaken now includes something for free that it didnt include before (CoO and Warmind).

 • Wow thanks man. You really cleared things up... smh. I tend to forget how Destiny fans act when you point out problems or anti-consumer practices.

 • What is anti consumer? If they raised the price of Forsaken then you'd have a point. If you wanted Forsaken by itself then your should have bought it yesterday. Starting today it includes the previous two expansions, for the same price. Let's say you already own the first avengers. You wait to buy Infinity War, and then they decide to sell a version of Infinity War for the same price that also includes the original Avengers. Would you complain about that too? You're looking for a problem when they're is none. Buy it or don't.

 • This is tiresome. I'm not buying a bundle that includes something I already purchased. You don't have to look very hard to find all the ways Activision is taking advantage of consumers. But thanks for your positive contributions to this supposed help thread.

 • Then don't buy it. Problem solved.

 • Glad I could help. By the way, they will likely reduce the price again later next year. I guess that will be anti consumer to everyone who bought it early.

 • You obviously don't understand the problem and are inundating this thread with replies that have no relevant helpful information so please find another place to argue with internet strangers if you feel so passionately about Activision's upstanding business practices.
