Mara offering. Pyramid ships.
Inside Mara’s throne there are pyramid ships on display. Aside from post credits cutscene this is the first time they’ve been seen in game.

5 RespuestasThey’re coming... At long last we’ll soon see the enemy of the traveler. I just wish they could up the maturity and go for an M rating. I don’t feel like they can do justice with this mysterious ‘fifth race’ in a T game. Time will tell.

6 RespuestasHas anyone else noticed that inside the pyramid ships, or at least the largest one in the middle, there are moth like particles flying around inside it? If the Traveler is Light, and the Darkness is drawn to it, the Darkness race might very well be the moth race we've seen in concept art. And as moths, they are drawn to the flame. Bungie is really latching onto the moth meme. But seriously though, the Darkness are most likely the humanoid moth race. They start as those worms that the Hive incubate, and either continue to feed to become giant Worm Gods or metamorphosis into the Moth race. And if they are Moths, then they have existed long before the Hive have. And the Hive have existed long before Humans have.

1 RespuestaThey've actually been shown and teased a little more than just the end credits. At the start of it they showed up pretty clearly in the dream sequence. They also showed up as a shadow on the Traveler during a re-telling of the collapse but i cant remember when we saw that. Noticed it on like my 4th playthrough

This confirms the theory that it was a pyramid ship that appeared to the Awoken just before they were actually transformed into Awoken. Which would make sense since it’s rumored that these are Eldritch ships.

I should mention that a lore tab (not that I can remember which) talks about how Sjor dreams about Mara ripping on of those ships in two with her bare hands.
