I'm talking about standing in The Blind Well and being able to accurately headshot enemies as they SPAWN out in the distance. After 4 years of playing this game, I'm well aware of what is---and isn't---a scout-rifle range shot. ....and after using the weapon it was VERY clear why Bungie offered this weapon up as an "optimally-rolled" version of the weapon.

"I have the gun and I know what scout rifle range is so it shoots like a scout should despite the fact that it's a hand cannon, don't try to tell me otherwise and use facts" Like get real, a cannon doesn't and shouldn't have the range output scouts do, but arguing with him is pointless, last time I tried he finally muted me (this after 2 years of me disproving his points lol)

No. You simply don't know what you're talking about and trying to cover it up with a lot of attitude. Let me put the dots closer together. 1. The weapon has TWO perks that boost range, in a hand cannon that already has a high range stat for its archetype. 2. Range and aim-assist in this game are interconnected. So if you try to use a weapon beyond its effective range you will not only see damage drop-off....you will see a reduction in (wait for it.....wait for it....) ACCURACY!!!. 3. So the fact that I was able to consistenly make accurate shots well beyond what is normal for a hand cannon speaks to the range being significantly improved. 4. THEN you add to that the fact that the weapon has Explosive Payload...which delivers damage in a way that is not subject to range-related damage drop off. So the bonus damage in PVE effectively counters the normal range-drop off you'd see with a hand cannon. ERGO, you have a weapon that has an effective range that extends into what would normally be considered Scout Rifle range. NOW GO BOTHER SOMEONE ELSE.

Aim assist is practically irrelevant in PvE, bullet magnetism is strong and hitboxes are massive. If you weren't consistently making accurate shots, it would suffice to say that your aim sucks. 3. Again, irrelevant. Should have said that in your second point. 4. Precision shots do the most damage, and Explosive Payload reduces overall damage when making precision shots. Add to that that you won't be consistently landing [b]precision[/b] shots at scout rifle range with your hand cannon, which means that the overall damage is effective only against low tier mobs, and we can conclude that it really isn't that effective at scout rifle range. 5. You're trying it in the Blind Well? That barely even covers pulse rifle range, not to mind scout rifle range!

No offense, but you should’ve just ignored him. Only you know how well the weapon handles, and by the way you describe it, it sounds like a beast. I never took genesis perk too seriously, but in this combo, that sounds like a great weapon.

You're right. One of my flaws is that I think I can constructively engage someone when they are just looking for someone to troll and to take their frustrations out on. So I "hang in there" when other people would just ignore the person and walk away. I'm getting better at spotting such individuals and cutting them off faster. But I still wind up giving them much more of a platform and an audience than they deserve. ...and it is a great weapon. That's was my **orginal point** before you-know-who crawled out from under his bridge. That this was an combination of perks in a weapon that turned out to be unexpected great. Which I would have missed out on if I'd just sharded the weapon because it was a "garbage roll'. Because it didnt' have the game's "best" perks.

I’ll keep both eyes out for those for those perks in Trust when I’m in Gambit next. So far the Trust I have received has fluted barrel, accurized rounds, dragonfly, and zen moment.

The weapon changes its personality a lot based on the perks. The first one I got was pretty lackluster, so I couldn't figure out what all the fuss about the weapon was over. Then I got another one with Corkscrew Rifling, Appended Mag, Triple Tap and Rampage. Much better weapon...but its accuracy was pretty inconsistent. So I popped a Targeting Adjuster mod into it....and it became a much better behaved weapon. But I still wasn't all that impressed with it. The third one had Polygonal Rifling, Accurized Rounds, Snapshot sights and Rampage.....now I was starting to see the potential of the weapon because its accuracy was much more consistent. Which is why I was willing to give the curated roll that I got last night a try. The combination of Smallbore and Light Mag made the weapon REALLY accurate.
