Now before you say "oh git gud lol" or "just use a shotgun lol" leave. I ain't coming here for elitist Destiny players to rub my nose in my shit KD ratio and tell me to get good at the game. I've been playing Destiny 1 since it released and I don't think I've improved at all from then to the present day. I recently hopped back into Crucible about a week or two after the release of Forsaken to find that everyone and their mother is using shotguns. So, still bearing scars from the shotgun spam of D1, I figured "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" and picked up whatever shotguns I happened to have. I don't get how someone can point blank me with just about any shotgun the game is willing to dish out, and yet I bring them down to a sliver of health and they proceed to one shot me with any number of things, being another shotgun, melee, etc. (usually melee because wArlOcK MaStEr rAcE) Shotguns feel really unbalanced right now, and until something happens to make it so shotguns will stop being handheld delete buttons, and so that every Crucible match isn't a pubstomp massacre for my team or the enemy, I ain't touching it for a good while.

1 RespuestaShotguns are where they were in the sandbox at the end of Destiny 1. You've simply let your skills at dealing with them erode. I never stopped playing Destiny, and it took me about a week to dust them off and get used (again) to their presence in the Crucible. ..and that process will go easier if you accept that shotgun play is a legitimate skill...and defending against them is a legitimate skill. They arent' broken, automatic-win buttons. You just have to understand how they work and how they are used in this game.....and practice the skill necessary to counter their use.

just backpedal and headshot them. not that hard. or...you know...dont go in close quarters without a close range weapon maybe.

4 RespuestasSo you recently returned to playing crucible which you admittedly did not take time to improve at in the past and are upset you didn't do well so you'll blame that on shotgun prevalence? It sounds more like you're rusty and not used to how the crucible is played right now. Fusions are equally viable. You just need to force shotgunners into fighting at your range which comes down to your positioning. Sidearms can compete with shotties as well. Snipers are lacking right now, however.

2 RespuestasOP clearly doesn't know what fusion rifles are, nor do they know the magical contraption that is the left stick. OP has also summoned me.

1 RespuestaI think you are somewhat right and somewhat wrong. On the one hand, there are issues surrounding shotguns. On the other, it extends beyond shotguns to all weapons that use "special" ammo (fusions, shotguns, snipers) and really stems from the fact that special ammo drops on kills from any enemy with any weapon. Yes it only drops a small amount if the killed player had some in reserve, but the main reason shotguns are so prevalent in this regard is because they pick up the ammo immediately after a kill and continue on. My proposed solution is to make special ammo only drop from enemies eliminated with the following stipulations; enemy must be eliminated (final blows only) by a weapon using "primary" ammo, melee or grenades. Just my humble opinion.

Last game I played last night was all snipers. Go figure.

5 RespuestasThen use either: -sidearms -SMGs -Telesto and fusion rifles in general
