Or alternatively, bungie could address the issues causing people to leave in the first place. Connectivity issues, bounties and quests that shove people into a game mode they don't want to play then complete prior to a match ending, and being dumped into games against 4 stacked teams while solo.

  • So what should Bungie do? Remove Gambit bounties for the people who love Gambit? Now yes connectivity issues and matchmaking needs work but sweet jesus, if you don't want to do something don't do it.

  • That's simple, for exotic quests giving us a PvP and a PvE path to completion would ensure that only the players who want to be in that game mode are playing it. For bounties, just make it so they're "do X per match". If your bounty is to bank 50 motes and you bank 30 motes in a match it should only add those 30 motes to your bounty once you complete the match.

  • Already no. if you can't complete a quest because you don't like the gamemode you don't deserve the gun. There's a reason quests are tied to things they are tied to. Lore reasons included so this is a big fat no. As far as that bounty idea goes it's not bad.

Who said I can't complete it? I'll happily complete it, but what's happening is you're complaining about people leaving while also arguing against getting rid of the people who'll leave. Give me a PvE option to complete this quest and you'll never see my sorry ass in gambit again. Fail to give me that option and sure I'll play gambit but I'll play it with the sole goal of completing my objectives. Take the malfeasance quest for example, 500 motes to bank, so if I encounter a 4 stack I'm out, if the other team is too good at invading and I'm losing progress I'm out, if the connection sucks and motes keep getting stolen from me I'm out, and the moment I get my 500 motes, guess what? I'm out. But remember, I'm only here because people like you keep making arguments like the one you just made.

  • Good, play the gamemode the questline is intended to be in. Now do the next easiest thing, don't be a poor sport or bad teammate. It really isn't difficult. And don't be that coward thats backs out upon seeing a fireteam thats just sad. I can't tell you how many times from D1 to D2 I have beat stacked teams, badly in many instances too. Leaving a 2v4? Ok, thats a bit more acceptable but still, can't be bothered to at least fight? As Ikora would say, "It's cowardice." Play to win, because you need motes to win. Do the smart thing and spam over small blockers with a team. You'll be guaranteed at least 40 motes a match. You'll also be making it difficult for the enemy team to be able to utilize their own invasions if they can't bank to get the portal. Rinse and repeat. An exotic quest should make you work. If an exotic quest drops from Crucible and it's a Crucible related weapon, everything should be in the Crucible for the most part. If it's an important weapon like Ace of Spades you should be doing everything and you did have to do everything. -Gambit kills -Crucible headshots -Strike kills

  • You're asking me to put in more effort than is required in a game mode I don't want to play, I don't care if I'm a bad team mate or a poor sport because I don't care about gambit or PvP in general. Like I said I'll happily play gambit for the malfeasance quest, but I'm playing gambit FOR the malfeasance quest not to help my team win, and remember you're arguing for me being there and not doing something else so you have no right to complain about people leaving. Want people to stop leaving, start by getting rid of the quests that incentivise leavers.

  • Quick tip in life. Don't be that guy that ruins everything because you don't enjoy it. This can applied anywhere. Again, you can play for the quest and the win. Not a lot to ask. Quests don't incentive leavers, poor sportsmanship does.

  • And quests incentivise poor sportsmanship. Sure I can play for the win, but I don't care about winning I care about getting my 500 motes as quickly as possible, which means not saving supers/heavy for the boss, banking even when I'm at less than 5 motes, stealing motes from teammates, never invading and never engaging an invader. Want teammates who care? Then get rid of the quests that bring in people who don't. "Don't hate the player, hate the game".

  • Because gambit takes a long time per game and players with certain bounties or the malfeasance quest need to win 10 games. This is what happens when you shunt people into a game mode they don't want to play to get items they want, they'll take the quickest path to their objective which in this case is to cut their losses and re-queue.

  • Well if you don't like it, argue for the removal of quests from PvP/Gambit, because I guarantee you that's the only way you'll get rid of quitters.

That shouldn’t be the only solution. Take the damn loss. Quest should be in each aspect of the game period. So either remove quests entirely. Or deal with the fact that a quest shouldn’t be an easy victory. And I mean all quest every single one even the PVE ones just all of them.

  • It's not about the loss, for example if I need the 10 wins for malfeasance and I lose the first round by a landslide, I know carrying on isn't likely to get me a win so the most time efficient thing to do is quit and retry. You're blaming the player for making a logical choice rather than bungie for making the logical choice quitting.

  • Sounds like they give up waaaay to easily I’ve gone into losing matches and still cane out on top. I’ve been wiped out but I endure I’m not gonna just completely lose all of my will to carry one that’s honestly cowardly nothing truly logical about it.
