That supernova has some decent distance though. Throwing knife has to get a precision hit and even then barely does more than the hammer which you can get back instantly.
Also synthoceps kinda grant OHK melees still it made the hammer and ballistic slam OHK
Dunemarchers also does as long as you hit 2 people.

Mini Hammer is 100 damage. And you will only pick it... if you kill the enemy. So it’s basically like Throwing Knife. About Synthoceps, it’s an exotic. It’s fine for hunters to have exotics that allow ohk too.

I’m gonna ask you this have you used the new arcstrider? Maybe gunslinger in D2? I’m gonna assume no even though I could easily check. Throwing knife btw did not receive a buff it doesn’t do anywhere near 130 especially not 160 now if you are referring to knife trick keep in mind it is extremely unlikely for you to land all the precision shots as the blades fan out. Allowing a significant loss in accuracy and makes it easier to dodge. The increased regen also depends on if you get the kill sure but it’s unlikely you’ll get more than 1 stack giving you regen that’s is very minuscule. Here’s the thing why a precision hit with a throwing knife has reasoning to why it should. 1 it takes precision to land that critical there while the hammer doesn’t (you also can instantly get it back and heal yourself while a hunter cannot) the hammer alone does more damage than the knives do unless of course the knife criticals which allows it to do 10 more damage if not it’s about 80-90 damage. That’s with bottom tree which has the most damage potential out of all of the knives. The knife is significantly smaller if you’ve seen the reticle while the Titan hammer is much much larger this actually makes it easier to hit someone with. If that hammer could OHK without help from an exotic. It would be fairly broken. It requires much less precision and you can heal after recovering it. Combine that with other exotics and honestly it gets fairly unbalance. Warlock supernova. That class has so much synergy as is. You will activate it quite often especially with help from mods. The arcstrider melee the small shockwave it sends is not very effective as it is very large and easy to see it’s also slow enough to dodge and requires you to actually aim it. Why should OHK be considered. Well to start it only activates on a slide. Shoulder charge has the advantages of 3 different activations. Slide, air, and standard ground, you also don’t lose it should you miss meaning you do not have a lost opportunity as you still have the charge. You also have 3 extra effects added to your shoulder charges A shockwave which damages surrounding enemies and recharges a generous amount of grenade energy Melting point which debuffs those it hits if they somehow survive (fun fact if more than one person is close enough they also get the melting point debuff) Finally my favorite as sentinel is just the best shield bash which stuns and disorients nearby enemies on top of killing (in PvP) the bastard unlucky enough to be hit. Giving you an instant advantage against your opponents. Even without adding in exotics that take these abilities to the highest of tiers these abilities have far more benefits as opposed to the risk. In fact I’d say due to the benefits of success and the forgiveness of potential failure they have far less risk than the abilities granted by the hunter and definitely much more reward. Hell a missed tempest strike uses your melee and puts you in the air making you a significantly large target offering no forgiveness for failure and very little reward for success.
