Zavala is the one that told the guardians to go to the dreaming city and aid the awoken when the awoken ask for help. He is described as honorable. This comes from the lore on the sword “abide the return.”
Interesting. Zavala isn’t a jerk after all. I still don’t like him though lol.

3 Respuestas1. Petra and us were the ones that were supposed to make the team to fight riven. In abide the return they are just asking for people to hold off the corruption of the city, not attack riven. 2. We already went to the dreaming city and knew of riven before the events in that lore tab. 3. Riven wanted to die. Killing Riven led to the corruption of the entire city. It was not a good thing to kill her.

26 RespuestasZavala was never a jerk. He was just always thinking long term over short term.
-
I never saw him as a jerk. He basically told us to go but not to talk about it. kinda like ikora, but more depressed and less vengeful
-
Eh it’s just “Destiny.” The Traveler came to Sol spreading the Ahamkara Race. The Hive follow The Traveler across space for like billions years killing everything it touches. A vicious cycle that will not stop until only Light or Dark remain......or neither. Just fate. Can’t fight fate with a gun.
-
Most people don’t like honorable good people go figure.
-
Imma keep it real with you, that doesn’t change the fact that he’s incredibly uninteresting and didn’t want us to avenge a guardian that has server the city for years, got us onto the dreadnaught, and was crucial in the defeat of Gaul. Plus uldren was willing to kill Cayde and slaughter other awoken so he could be the city’s worst enemy when he controlled the scorn army. PLUS without our intervention, the voice of riven would have been unleashed on the tangles shore.

8 RespuestasI think everyone being critical of Zavala is forgetting one big thing; he literally has the fate of civilization on his shoulders. If he makes a mistake it could be the end of everything. Can you blame him for being cautious?
-
17 RespuestasI find it a little hypocritical. “We aren’t an army.” Okay, so what about this changes things Zavala, huh?
-
12 RespuestasIdk man Zavala is better than Ikora imo
-
3 RespuestasAnyone else think it looks like they are setting things up for Zavala to have a face-heel turn? He’s been gradually growing more and more isolationistic and cautious ever since the red war. And now with the Vanguard broken and the office of the Speaker still empty, I could see New Monarchy’s vision of a benevolent dictator growing more and more appealing to him. We already know they want him to be Emperor, but up until now he has refused. But with his paranoia growing and without Cayde or the Speaker keeping him in check, I could see him warming up to the idea. Wouldn’t that be a cool place for them to take the story?

If it wasn't for ikora riven wouldn't be dead as zavala didn't want us to go to the tangled shore and the dreaming city

4 RespuestasEditado por TheArtist: 9/21/2018 2:06:39 PMHe's not a jerk. He's just a MANAGER...and not a LEADER. He lacks the vision to perceive threats to the City until they are literally smacking us in the face....and cannot (or will not) grasp the fact that we are merely a front in a much wider war. ...and he can't hide from that war, or fortify the City enough to withstand it. Sometimes you have to ride OUT to meet threats so that you don't fight them on your doorstep. That's the difference between a leader like Mara Sov....and a manager like Zavala. Mara went out to MEET the threat that Oryx posed. She took grievous losses....but she spared the Reef from the annihilation that would have happened if the fight had happened IN the Reef it self. ...and we may realize latere that she laid the groundwork that may make a future victory in that wider war possible. Whereas Zavala always wants to hunker down, and fight everything at the City walls or in City airspace. ...and that is a BIG problem.

6 RespuestasHe was? I remember Petra being the one to say we needed to go to the Dreaming City. Zavala didn’t even want us stepping foot in the Tangled Shore. He’s a punk. A coward. Ikora was right
-
#notmyvanguardcommander
-
He had nothing to do with it. Even if he didn’t want us to do something we’d do it anyway, we would’ve gone anyway. And as far as that the ONLY 2 things he’s done in D2 is bitch a bunch and stand on the edge of the tower.
-
4 RespuestasZavala is awoken.... He's in cahoots with Uldren.... It all lines up. Riven manipulated him with her lies and wishes. If he were orange they would call for impeachment.

Editado por Ghost593835: 9/21/2018 2:51:22 PMAlso Riven transcends death, even in death she lives. Also killing her unleashed a curse

If there’s loot involved it wouldn’t matter who tried to stop us
-
Zavala who is the main character in the game for PVE events I got a feeling a huge DLC maybe possible involving mainly him.
-
5 RespuestasHe is the Titan vanguard obviously the best npc in game. Titan master race for life 👌
-
1 RespuestaZavala has PTSD. Dude is done.
-
1 RespuestaHe only sent us there first cause he couldn’t find a door to hide behind in dreaming city
-
okay BUT Ikora can also do that Zavala didn't want any guardians in the reef at all hunting down Uldren even though he knew how badly uldren screwed up the reef because it might "incite war with the awoken" and only let guardians go to the dreaming city when the queen herself said to open the gates to outsiders im sure if Mara wasn't the one to say that Zavala still wouldn't do shit, he's terrified of her
-
You think the guardians wouldn’t have followed the loot and glory offered by the awoken even if zavala had said no? Zavala could try to stop us physically and we’d move him to a different plane of existence out of pure lust for loot.
-
1 RespuestaGod, are we going so low as to give Zavala credit for anything now. He can allow whatever he wants, if we didn't flip him off and went to murder Uldren there wouldn't be any Awoken left to help
