Based on bungies latest updates especially on twitter it is getting nerfed for Gambit as people have been saying it's the only viable option. TBH it's a bit true but let's make sure it's only nerfed in Gambit please! Idk how they still haven't been able to separate nerfs across modes but for the love of god it's most people's main DPS in PVE content so do not nerf it in any way. Not even aim assist which seems the potentially obvious target here. Please Bungo

1 RespuestaWhat people in this community need to understand is that Ease of use does not mean overpowered! Let’s put it in fighting game terms. I’ll use Street Fighter 5 for reference... Ryu (Sleeper) is a good solid all around character that is easy to use. While on the other hand Necalli (in this case I’ll use Snipers) is more technical. Let two amateurs go at it and Ryu will win most of the time while the Necalli player blames everything else but his own mistakes. Now put two skilled players and Necalli will shut down the Ryu more times than not. See the point is there is a certain skill gap that needs to be overcome to be able to branch out to other characters (weapons). Naturally everyone will start off with what’s easy and some might stay with it cause of that. But easy doesn’t necessary mean better. Back to Destiny. A Sleeper is good yes. But it’s kinda useless to try and scope people when invading once they find you. (WHICH ISNT HARD TO DO). Remember it not only tells you when the portals are open so you can prep. But there are a few select spawn points and it tells you when they are there and how much time they got left. It’s much easier to invade and use super to make sure you pick off who you need to pick off since the players with high motes will usually hide. To kill that player a proximity grenade launcher or Colony would be way more effective than a sleeper. The other argument is that it can melt bosses... so can the wannabe Black Hammer and it can one shot too. So can Wardcliff coil and that can one shot too. I can honestly keep going on but my point is made. Honestly all that needs to happen is simple. Don’t touch anything. Show people counters and let them adapt. This community is plagued with manchildren that whine about anything competitive and blame everything BUT their lack of skill. Let them whine... and let the rest of the adults enjoy Gambit in peace...

2 RespuestasJust remove the PvP part from Gambit (and optionally from the game). Everything where even a tiny bit of PvP is involved turns into you know what around these parts.

Sleeper SHOULD NOT be nerfed at all!!! It’s a great weapon, that fills a need and makes up for all the UNDER POWERED weapons in the game!!!!
-
nor does it need nerfing in PVP

11 RespuestasI am absolutely furious that Bungie is planning a nerf to Sleeper. How many times have great PVE weapons been destroyed because of PVP? How many bleeping times has this happened? Why do we continually go down this road over and over again. Sleeper is a fantastic weapon and should be left the hell alone. I don't give a damn about Gambit the only time I ever play Gambit is for the daily/weekly challenges for powerful loot and once I hit max power I will likely never set foot in Gambit again. Stop screwing with PVE for the sake of PVP. Just stop. Look at your player count. Over twice as many people play PVE than PVP. Stop catering to PVP crybabies. PVE is the core of your game it always has been. Trials might have gotten the stream views back in D1 but it was ALWAYS the PVE community that made up the majority of your active player base. Do NOT nerf sleeper. Don't bleeping touch it.

Make it more powerful!! Instead just change the gambit mechanic to if your guardian is killed lock out the power slot for 90 seconds or a reasonable time instead I think 90 is good but whatever. It sounds crazy to punish the player in such a way but I mean I have noticed that many players through out the match save up their power weapons for the powerful adds or the invasion runs so I do not see why it couldn't be experimented with. This will bring balance you cant pick up power ammo or use the power weapon for that lock out time even if you decide to invade to the other side while still locked out. I play gambit a decent amount of time and everyone dies a few times in the match in whatever party I am playing in. I die a lot but do manage to get max ammo for my sleeper to use on the prime boss without even making invasion runs. This could have people chose other weapons without the need to nerf any of them and risking the players to get closer than to just camp from the far end of the map with super long range weapons. I mean it is gambit right all about high risks the name of the game says it. Sleeper is not the problem the maps are just laid out beautifully for long range kills. The other day I kept getting killed numerous times by a player running the Tarantula linear fusion rifle so yeah sleeper is not the issue. My 2¢

would be nice if they removed the over shields, or at least make it decay once you invade and have the see the other players as a time thing as well, i mean your already timed on being there might as well time your opness to reflect your power is getting weaker the longer your on the other side
-
How bout when an enemy invades the other side, the invader only has about 2 seconds of seeing exactly where the enemy guardians are at. This will eliminate pre-firing with the sleeper simulate which I feel is the biggest issue but more importantly it will stop the pre-firing with any gun.
-
its not getting nerfed they just took away aim assist from it on console
-
1 RespuestaNot up voting, blame your selves for abusing a gun. Now go cry me a river so i can piss in it.
-
1 RespuestaThey need a more advanced damage mitigation system for pvp. Ruining weapons in pve is not cool.

I agree in pvp only pve leave as is

4 RespuestasSo I'm gonna tell you where bungie fails and where they been failing at for years. The simple fix for this is the same as when every one complained the Gally, or ice break was to over powerd. introduce 3 or 4 new weapons equally as powerful. That way people have choices to counter it. Balance in destiny should be like a fighter. There is always a character in game who is the perfect conter for another character you just have to find it. Bungie has this thing about making one or 2 super powerful weapons per game . Maybe 1 added every dlc. If they just gave us a shit ton of Uber powerful weapons to chase . No body would care. There would be something that could counter that gun
-
Sorry. It’s getting nerfed.
-
11 RespuestasJust ban it from Gambit and leave it otherwise alone.
-
Buuuuuuummmmmppp

I would like to point out that they said it was being tweaked for Gambit only.

1 RespuestaEditado por Fred Smith: 9/19/2018 4:23:04 PMSleeper isn't the problem. Having a quest that means most of your team-mates are trying to take down invading sleeper users with hand cannons is. They'll still be fish in a barrel to some other power weapon or super even if Sleeper is nerfed. Once the majority of your team-mates have completed the Ace of Spades quest and invaders are met with a hail of sleeper fire and supers rather than being plinked at with hand cannons a certain part of the problem would go away. A good fix to try for this issue in Gambit would be to make hand cannon kills count when you invade as well as when you defend. Then it'd be hand cannon equipped invaders trying to take down defending sleeper users...

1 RespuestaNerf it no gun should 1 shot on all areas of the body at all ranges when it's not scan. end of discussion. it's one thing in crucible but in gambit it's way to powerful and can shut an entire team Down in seconds
-
16 RespuestasSo was gambit worth getting sleeper deleted? Haven’t played it yet.
-
They aren't nerfing damage they already stated that. Just going to make the aim assist on it less generous.
-
Well I think to be fair they should just not allow power weapons to the other side. I mean there is enough in their arsenal to defeat guardians now with the weapon slot changes. I can see everyone going from sleeper to golden gun tho
