The thing with sleeper, which people seem to be forgetting, is its great for boss damage against primevals! As always people get killed by something too much an cry for nerfs, probably the same people trying to take down primevals with the sleeper and standing in the open when an invader pops in!! You have plenty of cover on maps, there is the charge time and four of you!! Locate invader, close the gap, take them down! Sleeper is perfectly fine and does its job in gambit perfectly, damage against bosses and guardians! Dont like it,dont play. We’ll probably be better off without your bitch ass anyway

  • Locate the invader... nice considering that he already knows where you are and is charging up his sleeper... as soon as you pick out you are dead. You cant locate it specially if you are a solo player. And you will be standing in the open (possibly) when he pops in since they some time invade when I am about to bank those motes, then as I am about to do it they send an ogre and invade... if he spawns in an open area you will be dead before you can even turn and run. I noticed that only below average players feel the need to use it, good players will take you down with their bygones or whatever easily enough, it is just those players who are not confident enough winning 1v1s that cannot do without their sleeper. But you are right, if you dont like it you should play it. I dont play it and wont (except to complete the milestones) until they fix this (or even remove it, that would be great).

  • It has nothing to do with being good or bad,if i’m sat on 13 sleeper shots an no one else has invaded you bet your arse i’m going in there looking to use 3 shots from it! Why prance around trying to kill someone with a pulse rifle when the enemy has a primeval an we are like 10-15 motes behind! Its called being efficient with your 30 seconds invasion time and going for the win. Its a weapon that is available to everyone, not based on rng. Just no excuse to be crying about it

  • I am not discussing the efficiency of using sleeper you are trying to win and you will use the best weapon available (at least most players will) one that require very little skill to kill, nothing wrong with that, hence why is wrong, people should have alternatives to it. Your reasons are exactly why sleeper needs to be looked at... you pretty much explained why

  • But its open to everyone so what’s the problem? Bloody people crying over a weapon that kills them is just embarrassing. You can counter the sleeper, you’re not invincible with it! People just too stupid to move when it gives you the prompt that the enemy invasion portal is open let alone when they actually get invaded. The weapon does what it should and should not be touched. Its the other mechanics of gambit that should be nerfed/buffed F’kin nerf herders loud an proud 2 weeks in!! Pathetic

  • Not about being pathetic. It is abused, because it is the easier weapon to kill enemies. Best weapon for gambit. it is not pathetic, you obviously use it a lot, if they nerf it, then you wil lneed to adapt, sure you will be ok

  • Its pathetic crying about a weapon that has been in game since the warmind dlc!! This has only come to head due to gambit therefore the mechanics need to change, not the weapon! Do people run around the crucible with sleeper? No Why is that? Its the game not the gun

Exactly, you keep proving my point... so thanks? Bungie already said the problem is with Gambit and NOT with the weapon... not sure if you are getting it. The reason why is not used in crucible is because you dont know where the enemy is, therefore you need to run around with a weapon that has charge time waiting for someone to show up, and if you are not quick you are dead. Shotguns, fusions, snipers, rockets, grenade launchers, can easily out gun you. In gambit, If the opposite player didnt know where the enemy was when invading Sleeper wouldnt be so useful. I could easily snipe him or sneak behind him or even get him with a primary as long as I adjust the distance. Seriously dont be salty, you are getting saltier by the minute, if it will be nerf to some extend and thats fine, you will find other weapons like queensbreaker or something similar. I rather they leave it in Gambit and find a way to make it 1 shot kills only on headshots or something similar, who knows, I really dont care, I would say 80-90% percent of my deaths are by sleeper, that is NOT normal.

  • I was playing last night and got sleeper on me, three times. Lost my bank 1 time. Not once did I say, "Golly, gee willackers! That weapon needs to be downgraded! It's just not fair!" Instead I learned where NOT to be and made it very difficult for him to hit me. But, boy did they HATE me for using a tracking rocket on them!!! See? It's simple, LEARN!!!!

  • So you hid until he left? Thats sounds like an amazing strategy... indeed Thats btw the best option, find a spot with no open areas and wait for him to get close to you and then sleeper wont be a problem anymore. Unless you know the area where he is at... then you can rush him but when you are holding 15 motes you are probably better of not doing that. Also, most of the times, they will spawn as they bank their motes, and coincidentally when you are about to bank yours. Meaning that they spawn while you are in the middle of the map trying to bank... if they have a good angle there is no running away, you will be dead within 1-2 seconds. BTW I have used sleeper a few times, and I am yet to see someone killing me when I am using it, I stopped using it because it felt like cheating.

  • Oh no! I wasn't hiding in fear. I just used an old field of vision tactic in which I can see more AND the mobs ignore me. You see, if I'm not getting shot at or returning fire AT them, it makes me harder to spot. Whereas he's all Hello Kitty Pink. And, my rocket LOVES the pink!!! 😎

  • I have never been killed by a rocket in Gambit, only once I saw one guy trying to use it and failing miserably, except with the new exotic launcher, thats a difference beast. In fact, if I have to chose between a guy with a rocket launcher and a linear fusion... I would take the rocket every time. Not sure what you mean by getting shot at or returning fire at them, the invader will always know where you are at, so either you sneak behind him while he is busy with his sleeper or you better hide. I would really like to see whats the percentage of sleeper kills vs other power weapons in Gambit...

  • And so you see the percentage of what weapons are getting used. Then what? You're gonna make a list and go down it one after the other? Seriously, I don't blame SS for killing me as I do my own mistakes for being careless. I've been sniped in Gambit, and, I don't cry weapon nerf. I've been grenaded, and I don't cry nerf. I've been shtogunned, same. Liner fusion rifle, ditto. Rocketed, oh well. I don't blame the weapon, I really don't blame the player. It's ME who wasn't smart enough to be a more elusive target in the first place!!!! Maybe, just maybe when you realize that, you'll understand how to be a more effective player in Gambit.

I have been sniped in gambit as well, but snipers are easier to counter, just slide or jump as you are coming out of a door and thats it, worse case scenario you get body shot which will not kill you. Sleeper, will kill you even if you are in a super and body shot, and the aim assist is crazy, hence why everyone uses it. I have never complaint of anyone killing me with a sniper, shotgun or even a linear fusion other than sleeper, because it required a headshot (at least). Show me how to be more effective against a sleeper please, because I would love to know, and dont tell me what you just said because a half a decent player will destroy you before you even shot your magic rocket launcher.... and will have time to take cover and avoid your rocket...plus rockets only have 1 in the mag before you have to reload, sleeper has 3... tell me though, if sleeper wasnt so good why do you think people are complaining? and dont tell me you dont use it because I know you do... I checked

  • I make sure the mobs don't engage me when I'm being invaded me. It keeps my location harder to spot. And, let's be honest here. You've never been shot by a rocket, from me. 😎

  • Screen turns red, immediately dead with no time to react. lose 13 motes with no counter play. Sounds about right.

  • See. You're just wrong. I hide behind cover the second an invader arrives. It makes it impossible to peak out and shoot them because they can prefire

  • Then the invader is winning. By taking cover, you aren’t dealing damage to anything and collecting notes. Invaders have to be shut down immediately. If they have sleeper, well someone is gonna die on your team 9/10 times.

  • this is my other major issue and why the invader system should receive a nerf. it should be 24/7 wall hacks. but more so a "pulse"when you enter the arena the game reveals the locations of the enemies to you of where they were at the moment the pulse happened. then 5 secs later it pulses again updating their locations. giving you a general idea of where they are and where their heading but not a 100% knowing of where they are in real time. and it does these pulses for the duration of your invasion.
