honestly they should give us another option to get MC other than buying them from Spider. Haven't seen one weapon or armor drop as a masterwork.
Edit: got my first MC from a legendary drop yesterday, it was rank 5 and I got ....... one upon decryption.
Making progress now.

When you delete legendaries, you get or core sometimes. The chance is actually quite high it seems, but I've only deleted about 20 so far.

They have tiers, the higher the tier the more chance you have of getting a core for dismantling.I’ve seen as high as tier 8 drop so far.
