Odd... most times when I run strikes, nightfalls, etc. I have the most kills despite using kinetic auto rifles almost exclusively. I'm going to give you some advice, since you're so keen on giving it. This might be a little confusing for you at first, but hear me out because this might just blow your mind. "Aim small, miss small." or in Destiny terms... see that Vex over there? Don't aim at him. From my experience, players who die in this game usually don't do so because their weapon sucks. In fact, I can easily and confidently say that 99.9% of deaths I've seen in the pve aspect of this game were not due to the player's choice of weapons. The exception to this rule being when they pull stunts like going into damage phases using their primary or went in with under leveled gear. Most of the time when players I'm playing with die, they died becaus they did something stupid (not using cover, rushing in, etc.), they couldn't get to cover in time to regen, or they were 1-2 shotted by a boss. When the question of kinetic weapons comes into play, most of the time the question is "what were you aiming for?", not what kind of weapon were you using. Are you going for critical shots or are you just pointing your weapon at enemies and pulling the trigger? Is the target 10 feet away or 100 feet away? If your target is out of the max efficient range of your weapon, then you either need to change weapons or change targets. Here's where "aim small, miss small" comes into play. Whether your target is 10 feet in front of you, or on that ledge 100 feet away, don't just point your weapon and pull the trigger. Pick something on each target that you can easily spot and aim for, preferably something in the "critical area". For instance, if you look at a psion then aim for the eye. If you aim for his eye, but miss, you're still very likely to hit his face and get a critical hit. If you're aiming at a fallen vandal, aim for the junction in their mask where their nose would be. Cabal, pretty much the same, aim for the spot just above the greyed out ^ on their helmet where their mouth and nose would be. If you just "aim for the head" then there's a fair chance you'll miss. Pick something that's easily noticeable, preferably centered, and aim for that every time. Vex don't really have any noticeable decorum on their weak areas since it's usually just a light, but aim for the center of that light. This might sound complicated, I know that the idea of trying to be so precise in the midst of a gun fight might sound absurd, but when you practice the muscle memory takes over and you'll aim for that same spot every time without even having to think about it. Most likely, if you really are playing with people who are dying solely "because of their weapon" then the reality of the situation is that they were not familiar enough with the weapon to use it properly, they weren't aiming for weak points, or they were using a kinetic weapon when they needed an energy or power weapon and visa-versa. Even if using a weapon you're not familiar with, the "aim small, miss small" tactic usually works.

I think you need to worry about your own game. I use auto rilfes all the time....and my 380 Triumph points argue that they aren't causing anyone to play poorly. Its the Indian, not the Arrow.
