SBMM needs to stay OUT of QP

I still loved QP with SBMM but it felt more like comp, and on the other hand I would just pub stomp solo que players in comp and it just felt weird, but now the game actually feels GOOD, if I wanna sweat I'll go play comp, I'm a mythic rank so I'll run a 4-stack and play against a 4-stack and have a fair competitive match versus if I wanna sit back, relax, and mess around in QP using random weapons, warming up my aim, hitting clips, going for high kill games, and just all around have FUN with the I can, now if SBMM stays for something like rumble or iron banner I understand and agree with it because it's supposed to be "sweaty" but QP is meant to RELAX in so PLEASE bungie don't bring SBMM back into it
Moderator edit: This thread has been moved to #Feedback forum so that other Destiny players can weigh in.   See Cozmo's thread here for more information about the #Feedback tag and its uses. • SBMM needs to be put back. Crucible is not fun anymore. Not that it was much fun to begin with but now its just stupid. Its not fun getting stomped constantly. 6v6 team shoot fest. Not the best player and have good and bad games. Just not fun. Go back to 4 v 4 with SBMM. It was more enjoyable than this mess.

    • Funny thing: Not once have I seen the 50 kill guys in QP play "funny" weapons. It is meta till the bitter end. But what do I know. Maybe changing the shader is also considered having "funny" weapons among our top player overlords.

      • I think it should stay but just widen the skill gap. I think it was to narrow before for the upper tier which caused the sweat fests. If they would deepen the spread then the upper tier would still get a less sweaty time but not have the lower tier players as destroyed.

        • Elites can only be elites when they're destroying the battlefield and creating fodder for their Youtube montages. Hence these complaints. It's why "smurfing" is a thing. It's why "tanking stats" is a thing. Anything to let them feel superior. When you challenge that they start crying, hence why all these threads are starting to pop up. "I don't want to sweat every match!" We know. You only have fun when you pubstomp the board.

          • I must've read about a dozen "I"s but no "we" or "us" or "you"s... So, I'm glad that you're having so much fun lording over your 'competition' (this word used as loosely as the definition allows). But in order for you to 'sit back, relax, and mess around using random weapons, warming up my aim, hitting clips, going for high kill games, and just all around have FUN' there are four other people (real ones, not just bots) hating this game more and more by the minute, and another 3 feeling like they'd feel more useful if they ate the left over wallpaper glue. And people think that KD matters... Also, your full-stop key is broken.

            • If you're in sweaty matches you are in the correct match making. If you want to stomp on less skilled players then play fortnite. It has no skill based match making, everyone is thrown on the pile. So maybe you get to play against some 4 year olds and make your self feel better.

Pathetic. It's like an NFL team wanting to play a high school team so they can never lose and feel like winners. Your not as good as you think you are if you can't compete with others of your same skill or better.

                • Its quite funny when people complain about matchmaking saying it is no fun for them not realising that qp should be fun for all. Its like you want the crucible matchmaking rigged in your favour so only a select few can have fun. Maybe there should allow different skill levels to mix but balance the teams so each team has roughly the same overall skill... oh wait people have complained on these forums about having rubbish team mates further evidence of people trying to fit the matchmaking. If you want to remove sbmm maybe you should come up with a solution that is fun for all.

                    • SBMM should be active for everything. You cannot argue that SBMM makes things "sweaty". Do you not realize that when the players who are less skilled get matched against players who are far more skilled then they are, they have to play "sweaty". The new or less skilled PvP players should not be forced to fight higher skilled player just because the higher skilleds want a "relaxing" pvp experience

                      • QP without SBMM is only relaxing, as you say, if you're better than most players at PVP. If you're not, then its only relaxing if you like getting stomped.

                          • if the player base wasn't so weak you could have higher quality games and faster matchmaking. the pvp community is also garbage.

All i know is that i'm finally having fun. Lets be honest if your getting pub stomped now, weren't you getting pub stomped before also. Has much changed for you? Is you anger based on other people having fun when your not, but were you having fun before? If the answer is no. Then why complain. If you weren't getting stomped and the MM was helping you with that 50% win ratio by rigging the games then i'm still not on your side. The crucible is finally fun, i can use what i want. got 40 kills with a hand cannon the other day. I would never use HC in sweaty lobby. Once this Matchmaking goes away i think a lot of people who main crucible will be let down. We often complain that PVP ruined PVE and that is mostly correct. But if the people who don't play crucible are the reason that the mm is changed. Then PVE players would be ruining the game for PVP player. I like both modes and would prefer we leave the matchmaking the way it is.

                            • I get what your saying and I don't necessarily disagree, but I understand its sweats on steroids for certain players right now. It's the exact opposite of chill. I personally propose add SBMM back at 1/3rd of what it was. It will probably be just enough to ensure that 95% of people will have that chill experience.

                            • I am by no means a skilled player since D2 is my first 1st person shooter. My k/d started at .8 and then settled around 1.17 though it had been going up slowly. With the changes to current quicklplay I’m consistently over 1.6kd not kda over my last 25. Again total noob when it comes to first person shooters but I have to admit it feels so much better and relaxing. I also have almost 2100 matches so I have put in sometime in Crucible.

                            • The solution here is create two different QP lists, one with SBMM and the other without SBMM so new players could be protect from top tier players and average players could have a relax non sweaty chill out PVP to use non meta weapons and builds.

                              • Yea I don't know man. I can't say I like no SBMM. While it can be fun to roll in with a completely trash load-out and pub stomp some marshmallows, it just doesn't feel right to me. I actually feel sorry for them. Maybe I come from a different angle though, because my GF plays this game and is terrified of pvp, she hits crucible (rarely) for the Milestone and that's about it. Prior to the SBMM bug, she could go in and not feel quite "as bad" as she thinks she is at pvp. She's not out to do comp at all, but she can at least keep some pace at her SBMM level. But now? Ek, I kinda fear her jumping in there. If she gets matched up against a few people that are my skill level or better, she's literally never touching PvP again. Stomping newb face in isn't exactly my idea of "fun". That's kind of the school yard bully mentality. I dunno, but I wish there was a way to get a consensus from all of the lowbies in the Crucible, to see if they are still having fun with the current broken system or not. I'd be curious to know. If the vast majority of them are still haviing a blast, then I can see leaving it as-is. But if they are on the verge of uninstalling the game - then it MUST be changed, for the sake of the community. I will say, though, that the lowbie/newbies are SO much more polite than the majority of players I used to match up with in QP. Almost every game I get a few messages from them saying "GG!" or "Wow, you did great! Good job". Literally blows my mind. Definitely refreshing from the typical sour butthurt messages I used to get when SBMM was active.

Higher skilled players tend to spend a large number of hours in pvp. Most casuals who aren't very good at the game only spend a few hours a week at the most. If I'm a better than average player who spends 10+ hours a week in pvp, I shouldn't have a worse experience than someone who only spends 2 hours in pvp. Most people complaining about the new changes barely even touch pvp. Sorry, but if your experience is bad the majority of the time because you are below average, you need to adapt. I have never seen a game with strict SBMM in quickplay that has succeeded long term.
