First off you obviously didn’t read anything I wrote or have ever written on these forums. Second, no one here is crying about anything. Just simple questions and responses. Third, you are a complete fool if you think Destiny was never meant for solo play. D1, with enough work (including solo friendly activities) hitting max was not impossible, nor should it be. Destiny was a great example of a “casual” game, not a game built for casuals. Before you argue that hear me out. In Destiny, Guardians could freely play what and how they wanted (obvious exceptions being weekly rotations). There was an understanding, however, that if you didn’t do certain things you didn’t get certain things. This was perfect, It kept a balance between hardcore and “casuals”. Just so you know, I never complained about it. In fact I “put on my big boy pants” and ran the things I needed too. That doesn’t mean I all of a sudden I should prefer fireteams. It means that if I want gear that requires a fireteam, I put those pants on. Making accusations about someone’s skill level based on how they choose to play shows that you are part of this communities problem Guardian. No need to bring the hate, we are simply trying to find a common ground that for some reason, some of you don’t want. You HAD to do the raid to get max light in vanilla D1. Said raid had a wall that blocked any groups under 3 from advancing. So how exactly was the game meant for solo players when it has limited them since day one? No issue with solo players BTW, just it should be expected things will take longer/require more effort in a clearly multiplayer game.

It’s not clearly a multiplayer game. Where do you get that from? It never was not even in vanilla D1. Even Bungie disputes that idea. That’s why they call it a shared world shooter. By their own explanation a game where even though you’re playing solo there can be other people in the world with you. The fact is that there are 3 multiplayer activities in the game and one of them (Nightfalls) doesn’t need to be. If the game was multiplayer it would have the tools for assembling teams and coordination in game. It fails both criteria. All that said activity specific gear can and should be locked behind specific activities. The idea that I can get raid loot without raiding by being in a clan with raiders is stupid. Power level advancement shouldn’t be locked behind activities though. That’s equally stupid. No matter your plat style is, playing the game should eventually get you to max power.
