Keep in mind that those population numbers aren't just Destiny 2. It's Destiny 1 as well. A little over 500k players, both games, 5 platforms. Sad and pathetic

nope. Destiny Tracker only shows D2 numbers. that's why there's only 8.7 mil. registered users.
-
Nope, it tracks everything. That's why when you look at the tracker for D2 and D1, they're exactly the same.
-
so d1 & d2 only have 8.7 mil. registered users?
-
Is that shocking to you?

Nov. 2014 (9 mil. users) https://www.engadget.com/2014/11/04/destiny-registered-users/ Nov. 2015 (25 mil. users) http://m.ign.com/articles/2015/11/03/destiny-hits-25-million-players-up-5-million-in-3-months what's shocking is that forum users usually have no idea what they're talking and constantly spread false information.

Regardless, it doesn't do anything for the fact that after 8 months, D2 has a 5% (on a good day) player retention rate. That's dreadful.

Or maybe after 4 years people have finally caught on that bungie blows their own horn way too much and IGN is their biggest media lapdog. I'll bet anything those number actually refer to character creations and not actual, unique accounts. I have an alt PSN ID that piggybacks on my main, the one I actually paid with.
-
Dont worry, bungie is going to hype, lie and scheme. Everyone will buy into it and, for a little while at least, there will be other gullible fools to play with.

Yup, I know!! Crazy sad!!
