I need answers. D2 a.k.a the Kim Kardashian of gaming is the biggest letdown in history. Please explain why/how you enjoy the following:
1. Uninteresting, Linear story telling that must have been imagined by some 5 year old while he was daydreaming in class.
2. Hollow PVE. Strikes, adventures, Story missions, quests all consist of point A to Z shoot bad guys, take cover rinse and repeat.
3. Boring and Repetitive PVP: Obvious Meta that consists of 3 viable weapons, emphasis on team shooting, boring lifeless maps, boring lifeless character abilities, boring lifeless weapons and armor
4. Easy Content that rains down countless loot just for participating
Please explain.
Edit: "I like it because I like it", "I don't need to explain myself to you". LMAO if you're triggered by a question I asked maybe you're hiding something. Like 'this game sucks but if I pretend hard enough, it won't suck'. I mean sure I gave my opinion, but to dismiss my points because you don't like them does not make them wrong.
I have not seen one single argument showing that this game is not hollow and repetitive. Instead people resort to ''well D1 was that way'' which is not an actual argument but an admission that it is hollow and repetitive. Sure you may 'enjoy this game with my friends' but the inescapable truth is that this game is literal dog shit. Your raid completions, flawless cards and gear are all hollow pointless crap that is practically given to you for free.
The activities you completed to get that gear is linear, boring and painfully easy. Clan vendors practically give you things for free just for participating in a clan. Participation trophy gaming at its finest lol. If any of this upsets you, it's okay you can still redeem yourself by leaving this dumpster fire behind. I am just sorry that Bungie succeeded in making you feel like a badass because you can walk in a straight line and shoot braindead AI. Congratulations here are your helmets.

I enjoy the hope and promise of what Destiny 2 could be. The reason I keep playing is 1. Because I am a casual now and with lots of stuff going on in my life, that makes it so that I consume game content and a much slower rate. Thus, leaving plenty of stuff for me to do. and 2. I love what Destiny did for me. I met awesome people and I have had tons of fun with them and really build something special with my clan and with my friends. For that reason I stay, hoping that D2 gets back to that point. Destiny 1 baptized my imagination, I was filled with wonder upon seeing the beautiful worlds and inspired stories they made. That's why I still play...
-
1 RespuestaBecause I don't play to be rewarded constantly. I don't constantly expect for fresh, new content. I play to relax. People that complain to this degree, genuinely do not like the game. Guess what, that's okay.

Sure, the game has its flaws, and the internal progression mechanics are sorely lacking. But man, I have had some really great times raiding, whether with my static or just with randoms. Something about this game lends itself really well to those fun experiences, whether its trying to find ways through the infinite forest and getting stuck on a ledge, or being chased by dogs cause someone wasn't quite fast enough, I always seem to have a great time. It seems to be in an interesting position, where progression comes (shudder) from within more than from gear. Sure, it sucks that there is such a rigid meta in pvp, but the difference between a good player and a bad player is more pronounced. Try doing Calus with people who just aren't quite up there yet, and they could have all the meta items, and still make you wipe countless times. More importantly perhaps, what did you want to accomplish with this? It certainly doesn't sound like you are looking for ways to make the game fun, it sounds like you wanna play warframe and are upset that destiny isnt warframe.

I don't but I don't have money to buy a new game so I'll plod on with this game.

4 RespuestasLiterally why do you care what people play or don't play? Literally you need a life literally.

It's funny that asking a straight forward question like this is considered trolling now. I get that there's a lot of bandwagon outrage but the OP here really is just wanting input from people "defending" the game. From the replies so far, half are just telling somebody curious to piss off and the rest aren't attempting to answer. Destiny DOES have solid gun mechanics. Was that ever something in contention? You could argue about the balancing or set perks, but overall it's accepted that it works better than average as an FPS. Which is sort of the problem. They've diluted the game with all of the other stuff to make it...more accessible (I'm trying to sound positive). That's just moved it from something unique to the most mundane. The real outrage is from a known, trusted company falling in line with bad practices they used to be exempt from. There was already three years of Bungie fans making excuses, exceptions, and exemptions for the first game. The base that came from another franchise became disenfranchised after having already dealt with the first installment's history of issues. Now it seems like they purposefully are giving their brand the Star Wars treament: LET'S JUST PISS OFF THE PEOPLE THAT SUPPORTED AND HELP GROW OUR POPULARITY. I don't even like Star Wars but this situation is damn near identical. The whole thing is baffling so asking the people that are attempting to stick up for the game, "what do you still enjoy", is a very valid line. I'm also really curious but getting legitimate replies is probably never going to happen in this atmosphere. Sidenote: Thing I've been reading in other threads is people calling out outside sources (like other forums or youtubers) as attention seekers. I'll grant that some may be partially true but when those other sources are able to have more valid, accessible discussions and formats for bringing things to light, it makes it easier to find legitimate criticisms. Something the climate here is obviously suffering from. I'd recommend laying off using the words "toxic" and "troll" so much. You guys ain't seen nothing.

Honesty the architecture and pillars of the game has been stupidly changed to make the game collapse.
-
1 RespuestaBut even Kim has a great behind
-
I log in once a week to do a few milestones and then I wait for the next reset. At this point there isn't much draw to the game besides the actual gunplay, which Bungie thankfully has always been great at.

Editado por OpticsGG: 2/8/2018 4:08:36 PMYou are entitled to your opinion and if you don't like the game for what it is right now in its current state then don't play? Why post on the forums of how unhappy you are with the game when you can just play something else. People still enjoy this game and love the gunplay. But I do have to agree that it gets a little stale once you have all of the weapons you get all of the Exotics. I love playing the Raid so I do that 6 times per week now.

2 RespuestasAre you really telling me that destiny is boring because it its repetitive when YOU play Fortnite, and Rocket League?
-
2 RespuestasI hate this game too, but there are people who enjoy every game because they find enjoyment in it, plain and simple, with complete disregard of your opinion

4 RespuestasAfter my business trip I will log on to Destiny 2 and 1 Phase Calus them do EoW and BS until Tuesday. Because I like to.

6 RespuestasPlease explain why you feel the need to be here to project your own subjective subscription? Please explain how anything anyone subjectively says is going to be conducive to this thread at all? The beautiful irony in all of this post (and others like it) are that you come here to post about how “pointless and hollow” the game is yet you’re exerting energy to post something that has no substance, and serves no point to you because you don’t even play the game. So you make a pointless and hollow post about something being pointless and hollow. Why don’t you spend the apparently free minutes of your life thinking about that instead of coming here?

105 RespuestasLiterally how can you still enjoy bitching about D2 on the forums at this point? I need answers. Forum posters a.k.a. the Riot Mob of the internet are nothing more than an echo chamber for negativity. Please explain why/how you justify the following: 1. Uninteresting, Linear comments that must have been written by some 5 year old while he was daydreaming in class. 2. Hollow arguments. You do realize that everything you listed for your #2 is exactly what D1 was, from beginning to end, right? 3. Boring and Repetitive statements: Obvious Meta that consists of 3 talking points, emphasis on "broken game," "casuals," and "D1 was so much better." 4. Easy Content that rains down countless insults just for attention. Please explain.

2 RespuestasYou know, a lot of people are kidding themselves if they can honestly say that the gunplay and basic "shoot aliens in the face" portion of the game isn't the best out there right now. Sure, the content, the loot, the hero moments and power fantasy are gone... But after a long day at work, picking up the controller (or whatever) to go "pew pew" is still satisfying... And that my friends, is what people still enjoy about this game. I'm not here to say that it's all good because of the aforementioned... But that's literally why some people still enjoy D2.
-
34 RespuestasBecause some of us enjoy the gameplay of a game that is still one of the best playing, best-feeling PVE shooters on the market. That's why. Everyone is different. Just because this game no longer has anything to offer that appeals to you, doesn't mean that it has nothing to offer ANYONE. Its just not the game for YOU. Which is fine. I'm sure I dislike some games you enjoy. But I don't need to make you wrong or bad for liking games that I don't.
