Fellow players and purchasers of Bungie's Destiny franchise,
I am addressing the following observations to you as I do not think Bungie cares what I think nor what any individual players think. So I am not addressing this to Bungie.
Many players who were looking forward to the reset today and some, hopefully, fresh challenges, were very disappointed to discover that they could not even get on the game today at all. It is 5:30PM ET now and I still cannot access Destiny.
Since whatever happened started I have read a number of posts that this is a problem caused by Sony, a problem caused by some contracted servers, possibly the fault of President Trump or even seditious aliens. I believe the problem is Bungie's and no one else. But Bungie has a legacy of blaming everyone else for the problems causes by their own lack of consideration for the player community. And the lack of having reliable servers for Destiny 2.
The reason I think the problem is squarely Bungie's is because I was playing prior to noon ET and around 15 minutes after the weekly milestones appeared I was summarily kicked out of the game and have been unable to return ever since.
This problem also caused a loss of game material for me and others. Since I was getting ready to play the first of the milestones I activated one of my Three of Coins. These things are a poor shadow of what they were in D1 but I use a few after the Tuesday resets to hopefully get high value exotics I can use to up the weapons and armor I actually do use in the game. Now I lost that Three of Coins. Will Bungie replace it??? I seriously doubt it. Bungie, as I mentioned, has shown little interest in the player community except when something is so significant it could impact on the financial bottom line of the company. Then Bungie takes notice.
Generally I enjoy this game, it is a pleasant escape when I need it. My life is busy so I am a casual player. I am seriously considering dropping Destiny 2. Not for the reason of today's shambles, but because I think Bungie is a poor gaming company and I am thinking perhaps I can spend my money playing other games out there, like Borderlands.
I would like to see improvements but am not optimistic.
