HZD is not an original game. The only thing that's original is the setting. Other than that everything is copied from other games which do it better.

Yea you’re right a game about a dead world being brought back to life by an A.I. who uses machines to keep the world alive with a woman trying to figure it all out. Totally unoriginal....

-
That encompasses a massive chunk of the story of the game dude... Have you actually played the game?
That encompasses a massive chunk of the story of the game dude... Have you actually played the game?
Yes, I didn't like it. I just don't think you really know what you're saying.
-
How so? I’m saying the story isn’t unoriginal and explained why. Then you go on to say everything I said is part of the setting when it’s not. Sounds like you don’t know what you’re saying
-
Editado por Psyntifik: 12/8/2017 5:14:44 PMNo, the game is set in a world being kept alive by A.I. You the player are the one to figure out why. That's a setting. At most, it's a synopsis. I'm not gonna continue to argue semantics, but it needs to be said that Horizon isn't known for its originality.
-
I agree it’s a part of the setting. But it also serves to be the entire reason Aloy starts the journey. And it’s ultimately her end goal of the entire game. It’s part of her story. I just don’t see how you can say it’s not and that it only serves to be the setting
-
It's a theme that's being recycled and we are eating it up.
-
That’s the first time I’ve ever seen this theme
-
Mass Effect/Monster Hunter/Terminator.
-
Mass effect didn’t have that theme? I’ve never played monster hunter. An A.I. brought a world back to life in that game? And you can’t compare movies to games.
-
Look a little deeper at the messages in the games. And movies. I'm not comparing the experience. You're focusing on the specifics that are on the surface.
-
I mean yea you can do that. But by that logic you can also say “this game is unoriginal because it has a good guy fighting a bad guy” if you wanted to. The specifics of the world matter in how you experience the game. Not just the message
-
Well to be fair they did it in a clever way and that's how it can be perceived as original. It has its influences. So it would probably be unfair for me to call it unoriginal. Nihilism is the current theme I'm perceiving from many different forms of media.
-
Editado por BLEEHOW97: 12/8/2017 5:15:21 PMYea that’s all I’m trying to say. I just think it’s completely unfair and untrue to call this game unoriginal. Sure it may have a couple themes that have been used before, but it presents them in a unique way. Which really is the entire point of creating new IPs: taking a theme and playing with how to present it so that it’s fresh
-
We have come to an agreement :)
-
Editado por BLEEHOW97: 12/8/2017 5:21:31 PMI hope I’m not coming off as a fanboy cuz I’m not. You can hate the game all you want. That’s fine. But you can’t call it unoriginal. That’s all I’m trying to say
-
No you're not coming across that way, my first comment was too vague.
-
Brace yourself.

R.i.p :/
