This is is dumb argument, and it's not hard to see why. Yes, the Lens has a much lower TTK, and it AoE's and DoT's as well. It's a fantastically powerful and fun weapon. The problem with it is....nothing else is in it's class. Whereas the constant search for total balance is a rabbit hole, introducing one gun that is head and shoulders above the rest is a breaking mechanic. Do you have this weapon? No? Then enjoy dying to it all over the place. When you put anything in the rotation that outclasses everything else, you didn't solve a problem, you created one. Lowering the TTK on only that one weapon didn't fix the PvP balance issues, it flat-out destroys it as a concept. This was the issue with special weapons in a lot of D1; why use a primary, when I can out-class it with a special 10 times out of 10? In short, allowing something like this to run wild invalidates all things that aren't a Prometheus Lens. On a long enough timeline, it would be the only gun used in any PvP match. Just bring it in line with the Cold Heart, and it will be fine. Until then, it's tipped the scales quite a lot.

  • PvE has double the players as PvP. -blam!- the PvP balance. Now you can be frustrated as shit just like we are with the watered down PvE 😂

Yeah, but the arguement fro the other side of the aisle is, why does it matter? You fight the same enemies over and over again. they never get smarter, or stronger, or faster. You kill them in droves, most adds aren't a threat, most majors aren't a threat, and most bosses are simple enough as well. From the mind of the PvP player, you can already use whatever you want to do anything, and get the exact same result, so why should some changes matter to you? Granted, I'm not saying that's correct. And I'm not saying you are either, it's a balancing act between the two. I'm a frequent player of both, and I have to live with the changes either way. But it's also going to spill over into PvE, just like Gjally did in D1. Don't have / aren't using the Lens? Yeah, find another raid group, etc. No matter how you look at it, having one exotic to rule them all will eventually cause problems for everyone, one way or another. Edit after the fact: arguing your point as a '@#$% you, got mine' concept is a really crappy way to get support and have the other side see things your way.

  • No. Buff all weapons so they feel this powerful. Exotics aren't supposed to be the most powerful weapons in the game, they are supposed to be the most unique. If they are inherently better than everything else, then they become the obvious choice for everything. Then, we as a community figure out which ones are best overall, and then those 2 or 3 weapons become the only choice for everything: thus are hard metas formed. The issue isn't that exotics don't feel powerful, it's that nothing feels powerful. Make the system cater to the player and not the developer, and we'll all have a much better time of choosing and using guns.

  • No... nerf.. this is what we have been waiting for, powerful and fun exotics. Not an exotic that fires on a hair trigger I be the meta. If they’re gonna nerf this they need to nerf mida, because they kill at about the same rate.

  • They really don't. The lens has a TTK around half that of a Mida, owing to the damage ramp up and the DoT effect occuring at the same time as the primary impact damage. I've watched the clips, I've broken it down frame by frame, the Lens is vastly faster. Add to that the ammo reload and priming other close targets for you, and it's a vastly superior weapon to the Mida. To be fair, I don't mind kill times like this. I don't care if everything in the game bumps up to this level. But I'm also a realist, and I understand that they are way more likely to 'fix' one gun than to refactor all of the ones as a result. Also, you can't make one gun faster to kill and more over-all useful than all the others and call it a good thing: you just broke the game balance fundamentally. Until they are willing to bump everything else up, which will be a long time coming (if ever), they need to tame this weapon in PvP.
