If your answer was D1, might explain why you dislike D2. You feel weaker after everything you went through and worked to acquire in D1 and now all that’s gone. And it stings a bit. But you probably still have hope D2 will shape up. Which is why you’re still here in the forums. Like me. And for the love of all that is holy this Osiris DLC better be brewing some MAJOR gameplay changes.
If you answered D2, you likely didn’t have a maxed out D1 character or didn’t play it. So you’re wondering why the forums of a game with such magnificent artwork, mostly likable characters, and smooth gameplay is getting SO much heat from its core crew. If the D1 character wins the poll, it would be your answer to all the salt. Worked super hard only to have it all taken away.
Either way, Destiny 2 is a reboot, not a sequel. And everything that’s missing makes perfect sense when you think about it like that.
So... The sooner we accept that, and stop lamenting all we lost in D1 and get over how we got mislead, the more enjoyable the game will be. Sucks. But it’s true. Doesn’t mean don’t complain, just don’t expect to get far if Bungie is already set in their ways. Remember that next time they want you to buy anything. 👻

Yr1 guardians by a clear star system we had the gjallarhorn aka the god killer aka ghorn and not to forget the sleep simulant.

4 RespuestasD2, for one simple reason: Our light level is drastically higher. The D1 versions would be nerfed going up against D2 characters. I am assuming that light level matters, though I realize that's debatable since Bungie keeps setting up PvP gametypes where it does not matter, for some reason. But let's assume we are talking about a real fight to the death, not just a Crucible training exercise, so LL matters the same as if fighting enemies. At the start of the D2 campaign, when we're at our D1-era peak, we have a LL of 100. This means D2 100 = D1 400. Current max is 305. This probably means that in D1 terms, a max D2 character has a light level of either 605 or 1215 depending how we do the math. Though since it's not spelled out, that may not be correct ... either way, though, 305 is quite a bit higher than 100.

Editado por brose_one: 11/28/2017 6:00:48 PMmy D1 character got slapped around by Ghaul. my D2 character made a sandwich, put away some laundry & learned a foreign language durning the rematch and still kicked his face. D2 > D1. /thread.

My Iron Lord Titan would Twilight across the map to all three of my D2 characters and give the the good ol meta-dor welcome before they could think.
I miss my Raze-Lighter and DarkDrinker. I named her DD
6 RespuestasEditado por Astartes Marine: 11/27/2017 7:30:29 PMWell of course we're weaker. The Cabal blew all of our hard earned loot up and took our Light for a time. The only reason we had any power at all was due to a broken and corrupted shard of the Traveller. Come to think of it maybe that's why our powers have such long cooldowns, we didn't regain our Light from the Traveller directly, just a small fragment that was in the middle of what appeared to be a quarantine zone judging by all the high walls and warnings all around. That forest that also had a high Taken presence. So yeah, we're still recovering from Ghaul's ambition.

2 RespuestasBetter question! vanilla Destiny guardian, so when you first started, before dark below and all that jazz, or you’r current D2 guardian?
-
Hell in D1 starting out you were already more powerful than your guardian will ever be in D2. I went on a 7 kill streak in a clash match with khovostov after just starting out on a titan. In D2 can't even turn the corner without getting gunned down by people too scared to stray from the pack.

3 RespuestasMy D1 warlock wielded the most powerful scout rifle of all time (Jade Rabbit), carried the god of all sidearms (worm wood), destroyed SIVA, single handedly without a single resurrection. Wore insanely powerful armor, slew oryx along side 5 others, solely killed Crota in his hive throw world. Captured skolas, locked him in he prison of elders, killed him afterwards, alone night I add. Destroyed a lot of vex guys, killed every Cabal leader on mars, became an iron lord, ran and defeated the strongest warrior ever... Randal The Vandal. My warlock was also able to self resurrect, throw instant death grenades, out perform many GODS in combat. My new warlock has a nockoff Of Jade Rabbit, (tone patrol) basically the magnum From halo, and a godlike sword (traitor’s fate). He gets a flaming sword, and that’s kinda cool. But so far all he has done is kill Gary by cheesing him off a cliff, and been too lazy to run most exotic quests, the answer is obviously my D1 guardian, he would look in my D2 guardian’s general direction and then my D2 guardian would die.

10 RespuestasMy d1 character > my 99 year old gran > a 1 week old kitten > a small crumpled piece of paper > my D2 character

5 RespuestasGuardians are just not as powerful with this silly 2 primary weapon and paltry heavy ammo drop system, relying on damage multipliers and with slower cooldowns on abilities and supers.

10 RespuestasEditado por Haze: 11/27/2017 12:24:20 PMIn Destiny 1 my character killed several gods with a golden rocket launcher that shot a pack of explosive airborne wolves that murdered everything. In Destiny 2, my character was cheesed off the map by a moody space turtle with daddy issues. It's not even a shadow of a contest. edit: I'm glad so many people agree

1 RespuestaYou need an option for D2 me would slap D1 me and go it's me from the future, and I know this is gonna sound crazy but break your copy of D1 and bet on the cubs. One will make you happy, one will make you rich.

I don’t have a maxed out destiny 1 character, but he’s 398 so he would win. Plus he has 399 sleeper simulant.

6 RespuestasI get what you're saying and all. But as far as pve is concerned, your Guardian actually performs the same if not better. I mean you can take out bosses with fusion rifles and auto rifles in 60 seconds. Even with a modifier you'd find it difficult to replicate such a feat in D1
