As the title said, EA removed micro-transactions for prenium currency; crystals for loot boxes.
"Sorry, we didn't get this right" yeah right... So basically "We own your ass and you're still gonna play our game, once everybody has bought it we will put lootboxes back"

Edit;
Allegedly, Electronic Arts chief executive officer Andrew Wilson had a phone call with The Walt Disney Company chief executive Bob Iger about Star Wars Battlefront II Here's the link to the article; https://venturebeat.com/2017/11/16/star-wars-battlefront-ii-microtransactions-go-offline-until-ea-can-make-changes/

Damage is done. EA has done been dead to me.

7 RespuestasThe constant moaning never ceases to amaze me.

3 RespuestasDoesnt EA participate in development of battlefield? BF rocks, so im willing to let this go in one ear and out the other. ITS NICE TO SEE A DEVELOPER LISTENING TO COMMUNITY FEED BACK AND TAKING A RELEVANT REACTIVE APPROACH! I never played star wars so dont know the whole story and dont care EA is a very credible company. It reminds me of the whiners on this forum. People like me!!

Korea and China force major developers to give up drop chances inside loot boxes and place controls for parents to limit access to children. America, ideas.
-
16 RespuestasWe need to start bullying game developers more often if it gets them to remove micro transactions.

Editado por RGC Chedderbob: 11/19/2017 5:04:54 PMFor people unaware of the petition that was posted here, it not only had battlefronts lootboxes but also overwatches as well. Also it's not that they're only investigating those two but if those end up being considered gambling the investigation will provide a starting point of what's gambling and what's not. They're not picking and choosing who to investigate but this could lead to laws regarding lootboxes in every game. Just an FYI since it seems half the people here know nothing of the investigation or petition that was posted.

1 RespuestaUntil it said it was going to put them back, I was thinking of buying the game, purely to show I support them taking the microtransactions out. But alas.
-
23 RespuestasDo not buy this game ...
-
And yet they'll put it back.
-
10 RespuestasEditado por zose: 11/17/2017 4:19:51 PMGuarantee you the reason they removed them had nothing to do with the feedback but from that European investigation into the game and it's loot boxes. I sincerely doubt that they cared about what the people wanted and just didn't want to be found guilty of gambling in the European courts.

2 RespuestasI would hold off buying until a couple months after Christmas. I foresee them turning it back on once it's too late for players to get a refund.
-
Rebels finally blow up the Death Star. Now they know that we mean business, yet they have informed us that there will still be a new and improved Death Star at a later date.
-
Imma buy it as soon as I get some cash. As of now I’m dirt broke - 41¢ to be exact. But I got a bday on thanksgiving day, so I’ll be set then.
-
20 RespuestasThey are TEMPORARILY removing them because they haven’t collected their money from ppl yet and it’s hurting their bottom line. If you think for a second that they would have been this generous after they’ve sold all your copies, think again.
-
When I started reading, I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought I might buy the game. Then, as it turns out, they're just turning them off for a while... Goddamnit, EA.
-
Remove it permanetly. Refunds to everyone if they bring them back.
-
If EA would just change the progression to what it should be and make cosmetics the only thing you can buy, people would actually buy the game, me included, but they are too daft to figure out if you make a great game, people will buy it because it is a great game. You don't need to add MTs to make people buy stuff. Just make the content worth the price tag. Every time EA says they're doing 1 good thing, they do one bad thing and just anger people even more.
-
A moment of silence for those who have gone before
-
3 RespuestasOh shit! Lets keep this going. Lets -blam!- up Activision next! Don't stop applying pressure!

5 RespuestasEditado por Warlock: 11/17/2017 6:57:27 PMEvery statement EA makes never fails to be more than corporate PR bullshit. They're clearly taking them out to avoid the lawsuit in Europe about micro transactions being a form of gambling, nothing more If you really think EA would listen to the players by taking out micro transactions, think again. They clearly intend on putting them back in the game as soon as they've sold as many copies as possible

11 RespuestasI was on the fence at whether to buy the game (Last night I had a classmate say to buy it because it was fun, but an instructor who said he wasn't getting it because of the loot boxes), but seeing that they're actually doing this has convinced me to go ahead and collect my pre-order today.

7 RespuestasThis surprised me and made me very happy even knowing that they’ll probably add them back soon.
-
2 RespuestasEA destroys everything they touch! They have ruined so many franchises as soon as they got their hands on them. From Dead Space to Mass Effect, and now Star Wars! Hell they even screwed up Sim City! How do you mess up a franchise as simple as Sim City? The funny thing is they never accept any responsibility. They always either blame the franchise itself. And say it’s not profitable and shut down all future projects. Or they actually blame the developers themselves, and in some cases close down entire studios! Not this time! That crap won’t fly with Disney! EA owns this one lol

2 RespuestasI just read an article on Eurogamer, can't link it as I'm on my Xbox, however it had the following in the article. According to Venturebeat sources, just before the change happened, Disney boss Bob Iger phoned EA boss Andrew Wilson to discuss Star Wars Battlefront 2. If true, I would have paid micro transactions to know what was said.
