Been saying this for a while. I can't figure out who this game is for. Feels like they polarized everything for either very casual players or the hardest of the hardcore. On one hand the core game has been simplified to a ridiculous degree so there is no grind or complexity to speak of. No RNG weapon rolls, two static skill sets for each subclass, ridiculously easy loot grind, exotics from public events (really? public events?), etc. On the other hand it feels like they made the end game content less accessible to casual players. Timer on the nightfall, punishing raid mechanics (team wipe on death) for new or less-skilled players, 4v4 PvP across the board, etc. It seems like they're trying to cater to both groups simultaneously but missed the mark. For me it comes down to loot. Yes I have a lot of friends that play and it's fun to play with them, but we want to feel rewarded for our time investment. The end game content doesn't offer anything in the way of unique powerful rewards. Every raid/trials weapon, and basically any armor, are just reskins of legendary gear you can easily get anywhere else. I can't even name most of the raid weapons because who cares, they're just a different skin of a gun I already have. I put 1,000s of hours in to D1, and am disappointed that we're only a month into D2 and I've already moved on to other games because they're giving me no incentive to keep grinding for anything unique or powerful.
