So by this logic of "I should be able to play any game MY way" you should be able to play a Dark Souls game by just mashing attack and win. What about a stealth based game, should I be able to just not be stealthy? Should I be able to speech check my way through a hack and slash game? Should I be able to complete the raid by simply shooting everything in front of me and not paying attention to mechanics? The answer to all of these questions is no. The game designers design a game how they think the game should be played. With that in mind Bungee has endorsed playing your way. But wait, aren't there untimed strikes in a playlist?
"Yeah but the rewards aren't high light!"
Well if you don't like the nightfall, and if the raid is super easy, why do you need to be high light level? The answer is you don't. So stop complaining about something you don't have fun doing when there are alternatives giving you what you want, an easy boring strike you can take super slow.
"But regular strikes aren't hard!"
If that's the problem than just do what you were telling people who like the timer to do. Implement the difficulty yourself. Go below two thirds health? Off the cliff. Momentum is on this week? Make sure you run around when you regenerate health.
TL;DR
Stop whining about game developers designing a game to be played a certain way. Stop telling people to implement their own difficulty when you can already do the same. Stop expecting everything to be tailor made for you.
