Leave aim assist on controllers for pc

Most of my pc gameplay time has been on a game called S4 League, if anyone knows this game they know that this game is so heavily based on movement and your ability to use weapons to boost your movements as you jump off walls and ceilings. I loved This game to death but the longer i played it the more pain my hands and fingers we in. See i have muscular dystrophy which effects all the muscles in my body including my hands so when i play this game for an extended period of time my hands just ached to no end. I loved the game so much but i eventually had to stop playing it because at the time it didnt have controller support and because of the pain i would go through while playing it and thats why im writing this. For people like me who currently only play console because its easier and puts less strain on our body but seeing that one of our favorite games is coming to pc this idea of removing aim assist for controllers on pc is saddening. Doing something like that would force people like me to either go console even though they want to be a part of the destiny community on pc or it would force us to use mouse and keyboard which would drastically reduce the time we are able to play. Part of being disabled sometimes sadly means that people dont think about you or what you need and to see that part of this wonderful community doesnt see the other side kind of breaks my heart. Not everyone who plays video games is able-bodied and thats why video games are great because anyone can play video games even if they have some sort of physical or mental disability. So keeping aim assist on controllers for pc means that every member of your community can play and be a part of what makes this game great. So please keep it that way everyone can enjoy fighting for the #puppies. Edit: Reasonable option for the situation have been posted below one of which i think is doable. Creating code that would detect those exploiting the AA while using M&K and ban them from pvp. The ban to pvp is my addition to the original ideas. Credit: TinyGreenDot Edit2: For those arguing that AA removes skill its doesnt. AA isnt some soldier 76 auto aim all it does is pull you a little closer to where you are already aiming. It does not guarantee hits so odds are if you are out in the open and someone is shooting at you that person regardless of if they have AA on or not they were going to hit you. On top of that because of the way AA works it might actually hinder your aim, to many times have i played overwatch or any other shoot and someone has passed by an enemy i was aiming at and its pulled me away. AA is a double edged sword for both players in all situations so the notion that AA is going to change a players aim substantially isnt correct. At the end of the day you either have good aim or your dont regardless of AA. Edit3: One of things people arent considering is the fact that there are weapon perks that particularly effect AA by either increasing it it decreasing it. So if you removed AA from some weapons with particular roles they would have to be reworked and redone. On top of that some weapon archetypes have a higher AA value than others. For example a high impact, low clip, low stability snipers has a higher aim assist value than a sniper like prediths revenge (a sniper with high clip size, high stability and higher fire rate from destiny). So removing AA would make all those high impact snipers worthless or at the very least incredibly difficult to use. Hand cannons, scout rifles and pulses with the same type of archetypes would also suffer the same issues. Removing AA isnt a black or white issue as some seem to think it is. As a destiny vet i would advise some of the new comers to go watch some old planet destiny or datto videos to understand how the aim assist in destiny works. Edit4: Destiny is not an esport. No dedicated servers, no spectator mode, no private matches ( at least not at launch) and the fact that the devs themselves have said they arent trying to turn it into an esport means its not hapoening any time soon. Edit 5: if the main argument for removing AA is that it doesn't take skill to kill some one with AA then im sure you wont like anything that tracks in the game like all of these mechanics/weapons/ perks: *Axion Bolt / Arc Bolt *Hidden hand ( perk that increases aim assist *Tyconaut (Titan Exotic Helm that has been seen in trailers that gives all rockets lock on *
perk on the hammer of sol titan that allows for thrown hammers to home in on targets
*Skip Grenade For Hunters *Nova bomb for warlocks literally chases you around the map *Melee supers also have high AA to ensure that you actually hit a target when you swipe (this would currently apply for defenders and arcstriders and was actually a huge problem for destiny 1 with the blade dancer[pole dancer before it was pole dancer] blade dancer had major problems with hit registration and AA on swings as well as its targeting *
dubious volley ( an exotic rocket launcher whos projectiles home in on targets
So if you want to take AA off these weapons and perks will all be effected and im sure this isnt even 1% of the weapons and armor pieces that would need to be reworked entirely if AA is removed.
