Apparently, you aren't aware of the fact that a lot of people are still playing Destiny 1 until the release of Destiny 2, at least. I, for one, will be playing Destiny one for a while. Im a completionist and a collector, and I still have plenty to complete and collect.
I know that you are ashamed of your game. I am ashamed for you even though I still play and will continue to do so. However, that doesn't mean that you can just rip away all support for Destiny 1 while you still have active players. You have made enough mistakes over the course of the past three years, and the fact that you are still making them does not bode well for the future.
I know that you are too lazy to put Grimiore into Destiny 2, because reasons. But I was still working on that, and I'm sure others were as well. In fact, I know others were because I still have several friends who are trying to increase their Grimiore score, because reasons.
I know the answer is no, but I'm going to ask anyway because I'm stubborn. Did you have any legitimate reason to remove features from the companion app?

It really is dead you know......☠☠☠😱
-
It's sole purpose is to push you into buying Destiny 2 and I'm T-totally triggered by this apocalyptic AssHat maneuver by Bungie. It sucks balls not being able to manage my D1 characters and forced to used some 3rd party app. I will go to YouTube and call bungie every bad word under the sun for this. Very poor form to shit on D1 companion app. Greedy pigs
-
2 RespuestasBungie, over the next few weeks/months will do everything in their power to kill of d1 Their theory is that if they do that most will move to d2 wether they want to or not! It's sad that they need to do that to get the numbers up for d2
-
3 RespuestasI just want to see my characters stats again
-
2 RespuestasAlso forgot to mention, pre-update Bungie released a post explaining what was happening, and advised that all the old features would stay functional in the older version of the app. Cosmo specifically states not to update to the new version if functionality of those features was desired.
-
my guess is they wanted to be cheap, and instead of making a new app for d2, the just rewrote all the coding for the app to work for d1.
-
2 RespuestasDestiny 1 is the only game I've played that's gotten worse over time.
-
Bungie isn't ashamed of Destiny 1. If anything, they're PROUD of the mess they made.
-
1 RespuestaNo, it's dead because the servers are going to be (pretty much) empty.
-
Yes they've made mistake after mistake ad infinitum, did you really think they'd get the end of the game right?
-
5 RespuestasYes because they don't want to support 2 apps Simple enough

Did you have any legitimate reason to remove features from the companion app? -- Inb4fanboys
Regarding Bungies decision/s to "rip away" all OR any support while not preferred, I'm sure we are all aware it is their right AND decision. I'm not saying I agree with them doing it. I'm simply stating its actually their legal right and choice (for any who aren't aware). There are consequences to Bungies decisions of course. As of right now however there does not appear to be any consequences on the gaming communitys side that have enough weight that matters to bungie regarding features/functions/or-content from anything we pay for in-game or don't pay-for in the app IMO. Hypothetically let's say Luke Smith, Jon Weisnewski, Tyson green, Sage Merril, Derek Carrol, Jason Jones etc etc, and all the rest, DID come to the conclusion to "Charge money and SELL the Destiny App" (which we know they currently aren't)... While the End Users License Agreement originally may have aimed for being designed and intended on behalf of the protection for publishers and developers from fraudulent legal claims and actions, Bungies relations w/the EULA have evolved over time similarly to how I view "Donkey Kong" evolved after the manufacturing plans were sent, MIS-read and MASS PRODUCED all incorrectly based on one letter of the alphabet being misinterpreted from the letter "M" into the letter "D". Once it was done, it's done. All the arcade machines and title screens read "Donkey Kong", and theres no going back to undo what it is. Similar to how Bungies actions regarding the EULA, there is no way to undo what was locked, removed, recycled, resold, what Bungie has currently used it for and intends it's uses for, ever since the beginning (when they themselves scored big with Activision and have 100% control and all rights to Destiny intellectual property via their own expressed words). Brian Jarrard of Bungie ~ http://m.ign.com/articles/2010/04/29/bungies-independence-day In contrast of The Destiny Game, and all they've done, what they do with the Destiny App IMO is nothing in contrast to them and how they don't value community by comparison. For three years you can't back out of a post in their app without having to QUIT the entire app, restart it and log back in again because of "this" for three years..... It was JUST UPDATED for the new D2 and after three years of being broken when backing out of a post, it still has the same problem it's had for 3 years. Regardless of being landscape or portrait) https://imgur.com/gallery/L9ng0 Brian Jarrard of Bungie on the Activision Deal.... "And Bungie from the outset wanted to sign a deal where we remained independent, where we owned our own creation and maintain control of it...(speaking about Destiny)" Brian Jarrard said that the deal allows Bungie to have full control over its franchise, something the studio wasn't able to do under Microsoft with Halo. "We will own what we create and through this partnership, Bungie will have complete ownership of this new IP," Jarrad explained. "Right out of the gate that eliminated discussions with many potential partners because it's an unprecedented deal in this day and age to let the developer own the IP." Bungie and Jason Jones own it, Have 100% control of it, all its content, and can remove/lock-anything/everything if deeming so. Which they have been when or if you turn on the game to play what you payed for. https://imgur.com/gallery/UTJFl Use the weapons you've earned that you payed for.... https://imgur.com/gallery/kcORW Just like the app, any features or functions of either are subject to change irregardless of the excruciatingly onerous consequences to the games community. Despite how many don't agree with their decisions at our expense, it hasn't stopped them. This isn't to pour salt, it's just to link and point out examples of how things have been and what those things have done.
-
2 RespuestasJeez, you among so many others are super salty about this. Okay...here we go. I am a huge fan of the grimiore, I loved how the lore of D1 functioned and how it was collected in one place on the app (though I wish it was implemented in the game, rather than a mobile app). It doesn't take much to understand why Bungie removed features from the app, and why things like the grimiore is going to remain missing in D2. Bungie is in the stage of transferring all information from the companion app into the new format that they are providing for Destiny 2. This takes time, and often includes numerous errors and bugs creeping up in unexpected places. They are going to need time to work out the kinks and test this process, that's what this week is all about. They are making sure that the new companion app functions properly. Then there are things like grimiore which is being discontinued. This is because the lore of D1 is being rewritten. The story of D1 was in-cohesive, that was one of the things that plagued the game since its launch. What Bungie is doing now is making sure their story makes sense and that everything in their timeline lines up and is indeed, this time around, cohesive. It's not a bad thing, mate. it's great, in fact. D1 was a trip for all of us, some bad some good. But everything they're doing for D2 is looking to be better than the first game.
-
3 RespuestasI agree! I don't intend to buy Destiny 2 anytime soon (if at all depending on how you continue giving preference to PVP players over PVE) and will instead continue playing Destiny 1.

I am ashamed for you even though I still play and will continue to do so.
What kind of elitist comment is this? Bungie is proud of Destiny and all the hard work they put into developing a game. Its time consuming and takes thousands of moving gears to create something like this to begin with. Nobody at Bungie is "ashamed" of anything. D1 was a big title for Bungie after branching away from the Halo franchise. I am sure Destiny is extremely special to Bungie staff given those reasons alone. However times change, Games change and evolve. D1 was unique to Bungie from the start. A completely different route than their previous Halo francise. They are taking what things worked and what things didnt work to create D2 and hopefully expand on the Destiny title as a whole. Im sure there are fincancial reasons inside that as well but to ignore the fact that at the end of the day they are a company and companies make money. There is nothing wrong in that.

3 RespuestasD1 and it's fans are DEAD to Bungie now HAVE A NICE DAY

You're right. It's dead because it died. lol

1 RespuestaEditado por cyberattaq: 8/30/2017 3:48:46 PMI mean it is the next game in the franchise. Of course it might retain some players or people coming in really late and stuff like that but for the most part as it's a sequel, most everyone will move on. Destiny 1 is finished in their eyes. It's done. They wrapped up the last update with Age of Triumph. I don't know if it's necessarily embarrassment as much as it they just are done with Destiny 1. I really don't mind. I and a lot of people were growing sick of Destiny 1. We want something newer, and I think Bungie was also getting sick of D1. They needed a semi clean slate, as did everyone. This is just natural with a game like destiny, or at least I believe it is. I find it reasonable.

6 RespuestasEditado por BXR Lonestar: 8/29/2017 4:45:51 PMI might still be willing to play D1 - if RoI drops to an acceptable price based on the fact that Y2/Y3 ruined our loot-based incentives for grinding, and the PVP is put back in a better, more fun meta era. There's absolutely ZERO chance of me getting D2 before late in 2018, and only IF at that time they release a DLC that undoes all of the STUPID changes D2 is bringing with it at launch for PVE players.

A lot of those fancy grimoire cards were put in the game specifically because of the story rework caused by the "management" scrapping the original story.

2 RespuestasI don't think no grimoire is lazy unless there is no in game story but removing all D1 functionality from the app is like you said a warning sign I can't ignore.

I'm ashamed of Destiny 1.
-
Yes you are right I am still playing destiny 1 and the game starts clutching out for example when I go to earth and I am on Venus instead of going with light speed I start landing on Venus and then boom Earth. Even that bungie is making a new game that doesn't mean that it has to totally destroy the original game.

I stopped playing after April update
