Sabotage!

I have thought about the changes made to destiny in the up coming sequel ever since spending considerable time playing and replaying the beta. I have read many opinions here and other places, both negative and positive. All of this has led me to the only conclusion i can arrive at, and a question that begs (and will likely never receive) an answer. What drives a game development team to set out to deliberately sabotage their players? Has any other game ever been treated this way before? It seems that every single game mechanic that was introduced, the very things that made Destiny unique, has been crippled. I understand the changes in PVP, aside from going 4vs 4, but none of these things make any sense at all for PVE. This can not possibly be the right way to make a game more challenging and engaging. The souls game are plenty difficult but i never feel as though some one has intentionally weakened my character while playing those game or blood born. Not trying to anger any one just expressing my opinion.

  • You're looking at PVE through the perception that we're still going to play D1. Destiny "2" is a whole new game, a fresh start where every single aspect of content has been specifically made around all the new changes. Now whether or not PVE will still be just as unique and engaging is something we can not answer for ourselves until we get to play the full game. You can't tell me that Bungie has crippled the experience of PVE if nobody has played the finished product. Yes, i completely agree that if these changes came into the PVE that exists currently in D1, that it would ruin the experience and make many encounters impossible to complete. However that is exactly my point, we're not going to be in D1 and people need to be able to see that almost nothing is going to be the same aside from a few core activities that we all know and love. In the end i would really encourage not just you, but everyone to just relax and hold off on all the things you hate about D2 and just wait for the whole release. And when that day comes and it turns out to be terrible, then by all means share all the negative opinions you want.

  • first step to avoiding sabotage, is to not confuse your opinion with fact. second step is paragraphs.
